Football Supporters and Identity

Postulamos que las premisas generales de la Teoría del  Equilibrio Social de Heider (Heider, 1946) concuerdan con las observaciones  etnográficas de procesos de fusión/fisión entre hinchadas de fútbol (Garriga  Zucal, 2002). Nos referimos al fenómeno conocidos como "lógica del  enemigo común", donde hinchadas con un enemigo en común establecen una  alianza. Pondremos a prueba la hipótesis de que dicha lógica explica la  mayoría de los casos de alianzas entre hinchadas de fútbol. Utilizaremos el  software FANMOD (Rasche & Wernicke, 2006) para la identificación de <i>motifs</i>  o sub-grupos en una red múltiple de enemistades y amistades entre hinchadas de  fútbol, descripta en un trabajo previo (Bundio, 2011a). En base a los  resultados del análisis se concluye que es necesario reconstruir los procesos  socio-históricos particulares que subyacen a la construcción de identidades a  partir de líneas de fractura históricas, sociales, económicas y políticas  (Giulianotti, 1999), y evaluar el peso relativo de diversos factores en el  desarrollo de conflictos y alianzas entre hinchadas.

Öz İnsanın, yer ve mekân ile kurduğu "hissi bağlar" anlamını içeren "Topophilia" (yer sevgisi) kavramı ilk olarak hümanist akımın temsilcilerinden Yi-Fu Tuan tarafından ileri sürülmüştür. Bu kavramın bir spor coğrafyacısı olan John Bale, futbol stadyumları ile ilgili duyguları ve değerleri tanımlamak için kullanmıştır. Futbol stadyumları, onu deneyimleyenler için gömülü anlamlar barındıran "topophilic" yerledir. Bu bakış açısı ile çalışmanın amacı; Trabzonspor'un eski stadı olan Hüseyin Avni Aker Stadyumu'nu, Topophilia kavramı açısından değerlendirmek ve geride bıraktığı değerlerin neler olduğunu incelemektir. Araştırmada nitel araştırma desenlerinden "netnografi" yöntemi kullanılmış ve veriler "arşivsel veri" tekniği ile toplanmıştır. Ayrıca yapılandırılmış görüşme formu kullanılarak bireysel görüşmeler gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmanın verileri, netnografi yöntemi için belirlenen örneklem grubunun sosyal medya hesaplarından, "Hüseyin Avni Aker Stadyumu ile ilgili bir anınızı paylaşabilir misiniz" paylaşımına gelen yorumlardan ve "Hüseyin Avni Aker Stadyumu sizin için ne ifade ediyor" sorusu temelinde yapılan bireysel görüşmelerden elde edilmiştir. Verilerin analizinde içerik ve betimsel analiz tekniklerinden faydalanılmıştır. Farklı oranlarda frekans alan kodlar, 17 kategori altında toplanmıştır. Trabzonspor taraftarlarının, Hüseyin Avni Aker Stadyumu ile ilgili taraftarların zihinlerinde yer edinen anıların başında Fenerbahçe ile oynanan maçlar gelmektedir. Özellikle "1995-1996 sezonunda 05.05.1996 tarihinde oynanan Trabzonspor-Fenerbahçe karşılaşması" Trabzonspor taraftarları için travma etkisi yaratan bir anı olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Görüşmelerden elde edilen veriler ışığında, taraftarlar için Hüseyin Avni Aker Stadyumu'nun, ulaşılabilirliği, taraftarına yaşattığı gurur ve övünç, Trabzon spor tarihindeki önemi, insanların hayatlarını etkileyen konumu, birlikteliğin ve sosyal ilişkilerin gelişmesine katkı sağlayan özelliği ile "topophilic" bir mekân olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Stadyumlar şehrin ve sakinlerinin kendilerine miras kaldığı yerlerdir. Böyle bir özelliği sahip olan Hüseyin Avni Aker Stadyumu'nun yıkılması, Trabzonspor ve Trabzon şehrinin spor tarihine önemli hasarlar vermiştir. Şehrin önemli spor alanlarında biri olan "Kavak Meydanı" sadece Hüseyin Avni Aker Stadyumu'nu kaybetmemiş, aynı zamanda şehrin tüm spor tarihi hafızasının silindiği bir alan görüntüsü çizmektedir.

Abstract The concept of "Topophilia", which includes the meaning of "sentimental connections" people establish with spaces and places, was originally proposed by Yi-Fu Tuan, one of the representatives of the humanist movement. John Bale, a sports geographer, used it to describe this concept as the feelings and values associated with football stadiums. The football stadiums are "topophilic" places with embedded meanings for those who experience them. The aim of this research from this point of view is to evaluate the former stadium of Trabzonspor; the Hüseyin Avni Aker Stadium with regards to the concept of Topophilia and to analyze the values it left behind. In the research, "netnography" method which is one of the qualitative research designs was used and the data were collected by the "archival data" technique. Also, individual interviews were conducted using the structured interview form.

This study, which aims at introducing the relationships between the quality perceived in stadium services and the value the supporters perceive toward the club and how much the value attributed by supporters to the sport club was affected from the stadium service quality perceived by supporters, was designed in the relational scanning model taking place in quantitative study. The data in the study were obtained 679 supporters, determined by the method of randomly sampling, coming to watch the matches of Torku Konyaspor-Akhisar Belediyespor, Torku Konyaspor-Galatasaray, Torku Konyaspor-Mersin İdman Yurdu, and Torku Konyaspor-Gençlerbirliği in the existing eight tribune areas in 2015-2016 football season. As data collecting instrument, "Personal Information Form", "Scale of Service Quality Perceived in Stadiums", and "Scale of Club Values toward Supporters" were utilized. In the analysis of the data, in order to examine the relationships between the variables, correlation and regression analyses were used. As a conclusion, it was identified that stadium service quality increased the club value perceived by supporter. As a result of regression analysis made, while the linear effects of the dimensions of physical environment quality, interaction quality, and core service quality on the club value, perceived by the spectator was identified, it was found that the dimension, whose the effect of core service quality was the most, was stadium service quality.

LE FOOTBALL DES NATIONS: Des terrains de jeu aux communautés imaginées.

Sous la direction de Fabien Archambault, Stéphane Beaud et William Gasparini. Aussi étrange que cela puisse paraître, les Anglais, ceux-là mêmes qui inventèrent le football au milieu du XIXe siècle, ont longtemps délaissé leur équipe nationale, lui préférant, et de loin, leurs clubs professionnels. Si les choses semblèrent changer quelque peu en 1966, avec la victoire des Three Lions dans la World Cup organisée outre-Manche, rien n’est pour autant définitivement acquis et les sujets de Sa Gracieuse Majesté pourraient bien manifester une indifférence polie en cas de contre-performance de l’équipe d’Angleterre lors du prochain Euro ou de la Coupe du monde à venir. Que ceci advienne dans un pays où le football est le sport roi illustre la complexité du rapport que
peut entretenir une société avec son équipe nationale. Bien loin de constituer l’élément cristallisateur exclusif et permanent des fiertés nationales, les sélections nationales, et la passion qu’elles ont pu et peuvent susciter, sont le produit de constructions historiques bien différentes selon les configurations nationales envisagées. Ce livre collectif
se propose donc de retracer, essentiellement à l’échelle européenne et par des approches monographiques,
la diversité des situations pour ce qui concerne les rapports à la nation et au football, c’est-à-dire le rapport
à la nation par le football et au football par le prisme du fait national. Dans cette optique, chaque étude est l’occasion de réflexions mettant en jeu des idiosyncrasies particulières qui révèlent les modalités et les évolutions des sentiments d’appartenance nationale.

La relación entre el fútbol y el mercado es una alianza que viene desarrollándose desde mediados del siglo XX, momento en el cual se fueron introduciendo estrategias y mecanismos propios del funcionamiento de las empresas comerciales con el objetivo de modernizar las instituciones deportivas, fortaleciendo su imagen en el plano nacional e internacional. En el caso particular de algunos clubes argentinos, la tarea de posicionar a las instituciones como marcas registradas en el mercado estuvo a cargo de técnicos y especialistas (particularmente provenientes del ámbito del marketing) que ingresaron como profesionales de la gestión comercial, siguiendo los nuevos parámetros inspirados en el modelo europeo, siendo capaces de conquistar la atención de empresas de gran capital que oficiaran de sponsors y/o aliados en la capitalización económica y futbolística. Estos representantes del proceso modernizador no respondían al perfil tradicional vinculado al trabajo previo en distintos espacios y actividades en los clubes, sino que eran empresarios reconocidos en el mundo de los negocios, que pudieron ingresar, con una trayectoria más breve, al campo deportivo político gracias a la exposición de sucapital económico y social. Dentro de este panorama, este trabajo se propone mostrar cuáles son las motivaciones de los actores sociales implicados en esta situación, abordando las posibles tensiones entre la capacidad de gestión de los dirigentes deportivos y la pasión asociada a los hinchas, representada a través de la defensa de determinados elementos y espacios sagrados.

In August 1988, Scunthorpe United became the first League football club in England for thirty-three years to move to a new, purpose-built stadium. In the thirty years since, thirty-four of the ninety-two clubs that comprise the 2018-19 Premier League and Football League have relocated. This thesis explores the context that has led to this scenario in English football; the theoretical constructs around place and identity that contribute to the depth of feeling about both the old and the new environments; the ways in which clubs have attempted to transfer a sense of home; and to what extent these processes have been effective.

The development of football and the places in which it is played in England is outlined, in particular the chain of events that led to a rapid transformation of football’s geographic landscape in the post-1988 period. Utilising theories around place, supporter identity, heritage and nostalgia, a new model is proposed to better understand the relationship between fans and stadiums. The usefulness of inserting both tangible and intangible elements of heritage and nostalgia into the communications around a transition to a new stadium is examined via a close analysis of the spread of and motivations driving prevalent commemorative trends, and the presentation and content of both programme advertising and ceremonies on the occasion of a stadium’s last or first match.

The thesis concludes by considering the physical environment of the new stadium, with in-depth case studies of three English football clubs – Arsenal, Brighton and Hove Albion and Doncaster Rovers – that have attempted to overcome potentially placeless surroundings by placing club-specific artworks in spectator concourses. The success of these projects suggests a potential way forward for future stadium moves that maintains the sense of identity, connection and engagement between a club, its fans, and its community.

Ketika bicara tentang hooliganisme, maka selalu diidentikkan dengan kekerasan yang dilakukan oleh suporter sepakbola. Apakah semua suporter sepakbola itu hooligan? Mengapa bisa  muncul kekerasan? Bagaimana proses kekerasan itu muncul? Hmm..masih banyak hal lain yang awalnya membuat kita bertanya-tanya, setelah membaca buku ini maka akan menjadi bergumam tersirat paham terkait permasalahan holiganisme. Hal ini dikarenakan dalam buku menjelaskan konsepsi football hooliganism secara utuh yang disertai pula dengan gambaran permasalahan yang terjadi di berbagai belahan dunia.

A l'occasion d'un classement, forcément subjectif, des meilleurs joueurs du monde le magazine sofoot résume ainsi son choix de le mettre en haut du podium : « S'il ne devait en rester qu'un, cela serait lui, car personne d'autre n'oserait prendre sa place ».

Title                 : The Conflict of PSIS Semarang Supporters between a Group of Supporters Panser Biru and Snex

This minithesis discussed about the background and process the occurrence of conflict fellow supporters PSIS Semarang between the supporter group of Panser Biru and Snex. Interest in the crowd from the perspective of the research is how individuals shifted from personal identity to the collective identity. The mass brought the potential violence that could develop into violence in various public spaces. The purpose of this research is to analyze the conflict fought between Panser Biru and Snex, who both are fanatical supporters of PSIS. Therefore, this study examines the factors that contribute to the occurrence of conflict through understanding the background of any members supporters chose to participate in the violence, the perception of the situation between groups related with the interests, ingroup identification and spatial dimension. This research used the qualitative approach with field research methods. The results of this research found the presence of inherited hostility, conflict of identity, as well as the political and economic interests, leading to the existence of latent conflicts in the rivalry between the Panser Biru and Snex. Latent conflict will evolve into manifest conflict when supporters of both sides meet in public spaces and there are triggers that can cause the occurrence of violence.

Skripsi ini membahas mengenai latar belakang dan proses terjadinya konflik sesama suporter PSIS Semarang antara kelompok suporter Panser Biru dan Snex. Kepentingan dalam kerumunan dari perspektif penelitian ini adalah bagaimana individu bergeser dari identitas pribadi ke identitas kolektif. Massa membawa potensi kekerasan yang dapat berkembang menjadi kekerasan di berbagai ruang publik. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis konflik yang terjadi antara Panser Biru dengan Snex, yang keduanya merupakan suporter fanatik PSIS. Untuk itu,  penelitian ini mengkaji faktor yang berkontribusi terhadap terjadinya konflik melalui pemahaman latar belakang anggota setiap suporter memilih untuk berpartisipasi dalam kekerasan, persepsi dari situasi antar kelompok terkait dengan kepentingan, identifikasi ingroup dan dimensi spasial. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode penelitian lapangan. Hasil dari penelitian ini menemukan adanya permusuhan yang diwariskan, konflik identitas, serta kepentingan politik dan ekonomi, yang menimbulkan adanya konflik laten dalam persaingan antara Panser Biru dengan Snex. Konflik laten akan berkembang menjadi konflik manifest ketika suporter dari kedua belah pihak bertemu di ruang publik dan terdapat pemicu yang dapat menimbulkan terjadinya kekerasan.

Abstract

The aim of this research to examined the relationship between fanaticism and aggressive behavior tendencies of foreign football fans. Data were collected from 93 participants of 4 different fans club at Yogyakarta, which are Milanisti Indonesia sezione Jogja, Juventus Club Indonesia chapter Jogja, BIGREDS (Liverpool FC), and Jogja United Indonesia. Those fans klub had the largest member and the most attractive in supporting their real club. This research used purposive sampling. Instrument for data collection were The Aggressive Behaviour Tendencies  Scale and Fanaticism Scale. Product Moment Correlation were used to analyze the data. Result showed that there is a relationship between Aggressive Behavior Tendencies and Fanaticism on foreign football fans around 0,212 (p<0,05).

Professional sport is no stranger to hyperbole – fist-pumping, intimidating behaviour, and expletive-filled rants are a common sight. And that is because football is a rather special case.

Football is one of the most popular sports in the world and, because of that, it is also an organised social activity that offers social groups and communities a chance to collectively express and defend (fight for) an identity.

It doesn’t do this by simply bringing fans of certain clubs together once or twice a week, plonking them down in a stadium and allowing them to scream together; although a stadium is a shared (and physical) manifestation of that identity.

It does this by allowing groups and communities the chance to project emotional and historical baggage on to animate (football players and fans) and inanimate (stadiums) structures.

And it does so by being part of a history that survives over generations, passed down from parent to child, allowing for the writing of a narrative filled with legends and myths that speak to the defence of that identity.

A simple but highly effective method of beginning to understand how this works is to see football as Emile Durkheim saw religion.

Durkheim’s view of religion – ‘something eminently social’ and something he built on the idea of a totem – was that of a social construct… something individual men and women came together to create and something which helped them make sense of their environments.

And his idea of a religion as ‘collective representations which express collective realities’ (Durkheim 1965: 10) approximates to how football is viewed by collectively by football fans and by fans of different clubs.

All of this is just a fancy way of saying that for millions of people, football is a (quasi?)-religious experience and partaking in that ritual adds substantial meaning to their lives; it is a frame of reference that helps process ‘real world’ issues. 

Almost everything at, about and connected to a football game – particularly those involving older and more storied clubs and communities – is a representation of those ‘real world’ issues, be they social, cultural, political, religious or economic.

That act of representation – of mirroring - is what this text is concerned with, and to do so this text borrows as much from journalism as it does from sociology; it emphasises emotion and story-telling as much as it is based on theory.

En el fútbol argentino es común que los simpatizantes entonen cantos elaborados durante el transcurso de un encuentro deportivo. Estos cantos o c"antitos" expresan un conjunto compartido de creencias, conocimientos, valores y actitudes, que contribuyen a presentar una imagen positiva del propio grupo y negativa de los rivales. Esta estrategia de representación se corresponde con una ideología, tal como la define el lingüísta Teun Van Dijk. En "Duelo en las gradas" el autor explora la posibilidad de estudiar estas creencias y valores sociales, pensando al discurso como una red de significados, en donde creencias positivas y negativas se vinculan con los distintos actores sociales presentados en el discurso. Esta manera de enfocar la problemática permite utilizar el Análisis de Redes Sociales para describir analíticamente la forma en que se estructura el discurso de los hinchas manifestado en sus cantos.

Mutuality is a longstanding successful model of ownership within European professional football. There was little understanding of mutuality as a form of ownership in British football until it emerged during the past decade, albeit, confined to lower leagues. It now merits further investigation. Focusing on Exeter City FC, operating as a nonprofit organization, this research examines the range of business and financial management issues facing the club. The main findings reveal that supporter ownership allowed a greater sense of “buy in” and inclusion of a wider cross-section of stakeholders.  However, evidence shows limitations to mutuality in identifying alternative revenue
streams, overly bureaucratic decision making, and ability to developing capabilities to compete. The case of Exeter City FC offers lessons for others considering mutuality as a form of ownership. This study contributes to understanding mutuality in this specific context and within the broader discussion of corporate governance issues in
the nonprofit sector.

Archetti, en su célebre artículo Fútbol y ethos (1985), sostuvo que el fútbol es una suerte de gramática universal que trasciende fronteras y crea en el proceso un mundo uniforme, con sus propias leyes y actores. Sin embargo, por debajo de estas similitudes existe un conjunto de diferencias y variaciones. Esto implica que en este deporte se pueden encontrar aspectos públicos de una cultura, rastreables en distintas manifestaciones colectivas, y reconocibles por sus diferencias con otras culturas.La tesis central de Archetti es que en el fútbol es posible encontrar una serie de símbolos que ayudan a las personas a pensar y categorizar sus relaciones sociales, y que esto tiene consecuencias sobre las maneras en que los actores sienten y perciben el mundo que les rodea. Esto sólo es posible porque el fútbol no existe sólo en el terreno de la subjetividad sino que adquiere contenidos y formas concretas en el estadio y en otros espacios de sociabilidad.El supuesto de que a través del fútbol es posible analizar y comprender aspectos de la realidad social implica que los actores que participan del deporte son capaces de comunicar, a través de sus prácticas, una visión del mundo y sus orientaciones valorativas. El fútbol constituye un universo que tiene un sentido y un significado, está inserto en la cultura y la sociedad y, por lo tanto, sirve para transportar significados y delimitar campos de acción:?El fútbol es un ritual, es decir, una secuencia que tiene cierta lógica y se repite, y además puede tener un alto contenido dramático. El drama no sólo tiene que ver con un final en el que hay o puede haber vencedores y vencidos sino con la constitución de ?comunidades?. El fútbol como drama social en el que se vehiculizan visión del mundo y ethos implica una polarización, por un lado, entre jugadores y técnicos rivales, pero, por otro lado, entre hinchas rivales. La polarización no sólo es social sino también es posible observarla a nivel del significado para los actores y el modo como se representan y verbalizan las secuencias de las que son partes. En esa dirección podemos aceptar como hipótesis de trabajo que en el fútbol encontramos elementos de todo proceso de polarización de significados. Estos aspectos son, en primer lugar, los símbolos relacionados con ciclos de reproducción de una sociedad: la sexualidad, el acto sexual, el nacimiento y la muerte, y en segundo lugar, la constitución de parcelas importantes de la identidad de un grupo social determinado o, incluso, si esto fuera posible, de toda una sociedad. Una parte importante del ethos tiene que ver, precisamente, con la constitución de la identidad posicional de los actores a dos niveles: a nivel existencial en lo que se relaciona con la individualidad, el sexo o la edad, y a nivel histórico con la construcción de esferas sociales asociadas a las pertenencias ?tribales? en distintas escalas.? (Archetti, 1985, p. 77-78).Lo interesante de entender el fútbol como un vehículo de dramas sociales es que aparece como un drama totalizante, que no sólo reproduce identidades parciales o delimita contextos exclusivos en los que sólo actúan actores privilegiados. En este punto termina su isomorfismo con otros dramas sociales como por ejemplo el carnaval.El fútbol en Argentina adquiere la forma de una ceremonia con un alto contenido dramático y un enorme poder de condensación simbólica. Este poder de condensación alude a una multivocalidad de discursos que involucran distintos campos. Puede ser visto como un discurso público sobre un hecho deportivo que está provisto de ponderaciones, argumentos y difamaciones que acompañan todo ritual verbal. En este sentido el fútbol es un discurso político ya que permite asumir posiciones, expresar opiniones y proponer soluciones.El ritual futbolístico no sólo cumple la función principal de generar un sentimiento de comunidad, sino que además reafirma las estructuras jerárquicas de la sociedad, que pertenecen por lo general al género masculino. La cuestión del poder es uno de los aspectos importantes del ritual, ya que los actores buscan ejercer el poder a nivel simbólico (Archetti, 1985).El campo futbolístico es relativamente autónomo con respecto a los procesos macro sociales. Es autónomo porque genera sus propios relatos, en un lenguaje propio y que adquieren sentido en el marco futbolístico. Es relativo porque los hinchas han utilizado el futbol para expresar lo que públicamente es inexpresable, y eso es ante todo algo social.  Para entender cabalmente este aspecto del ritual del aliento es necesario tener en cuenta: a) el desarrollo del fútbol a lo largo del siglo XX, b) los procesos económicos, políticos y socio-históricos que atravesaron la historia Argentina a lo largo de ese siglo, y c) el desarrollo de la industria cultural argentina en dicho periodo, sobre todo el avance de los grandes medios de comunicación y del campo musical. En los próximos apartados me propongo analizar la configuración del ritual del aliento a lo largo del siglo XX y principio del siglo XXI, señalando sus principales cambios y asociándolos con los procesos sociales que lo atraviezan.

This article tells the story of football when it cannot be separated from its supporters. In the case of Sleman Football Association (PSS) there are two groups of supporters. They are  green  face,  “Slemania,”  who  represent  the  old  wing supporters, considered to be the more conservative of the two and Black face, “Brigata Curva Sud,” who represent the new wing of supporters considered to be more progressive than its predecessor. Both groups are located behind the north and south goals and voice their support for the same football team. The struggle over identity and space is not only visible during match time but also carries over into the public area, particularly in the case of supporters at the village level. Not only do they voice their fanaticism but they possess different identities.

Football is one of the most important social phenomena of the 20th and 21 st centuries. It can be regarded as a kaleidoscope of human emotions, a stage from which to observe and study social reality. In the development of identity, sports are a means through which to create "Us" and "Them". Football goes beyond the mere sporting field and through identification with a team, people can express their own identification with something that goes beyond sports: city, region, specific subgroup, social class or ethnic group. In this paper I use qualitative research methods and audiovisual techniques to analyse the case of football fans of Naples Football team living in Barcelona. Within the migratory experience, many Neapolitans consider football as an additional component to maintain a close link with their own origins. Football allows them to feed the sense of belonging and (re)discover old and new identity elements. 1. Introduzione Il presente articolo nasce da un più ampio progetto di ricerca che ho svolto tra il 2010 e il 2015, presso l'Università di Barcellona all'interno del quale ho osservato e analizzato la vita di alcuni napoletani che vivono a Barcellona, nella prospettiva relativa alla circolazione di persone in Europa. Si tratta di un fenomeno in costante crescita, alimentato dallo sviluppo delle tecnologie comunicative e di trasporto che permettono di spostarsi in poco tempo, viaggiare a prezzi molto contenuti e di rimanere più rapidamente e quasi in modo immediato, e attivo, in contatto informativo e comunicativo con la propria famiglia con gli amici e con gli accadimenti del paese di origine. Nel lavoro di ricerca, partendo dalle storie di vita e dalla narrazione che queste persone fanno della propria esperienza, ho analizzato il rapporto che esse mantengono con la propria origine e con la riscoperta e la trasformazione dell'identità cui inevitabilmente si va incontro quando si decide di vivere in un altro paese. La nozione di identità è stata ampiamente trattata dalle scienze sociali, secondo diverse discipline e prospettive teoriche. Nella ricostruzione teorica del concetto di identità faccio riferimento a quei contributi che considerano l'identità come un fenomeno multidimensionale che si costruisce in un processo dinamico in costante trasformazione (Hobsbawn, 2000). Da un lato, l'identità si forma in una dimensione relazionale con l'altro in diverse situazioni intersoggettive. Dall'altro, il processo di configurazione identitaria si sviluppa in una dimensione associata alla narrazione (Pecchinenda, 2008) e alla rappresentazione di se stessi (Ricoeur, 1996). Un altro elemento che contribuisce alla formazione di questa identità è relativo alle esperienze previe rilevanti, individuali e sociali, che si basano sugli aspetti costruiti storicamente (Marcús, 2011) che formano parte del patrimonio culturale delle persone. Przedmiotem poniższej pracy są szaliki kibiców piłki nożnej w Polsce, a dokładniej ideologia na nich wyszyta i ukazana. Podczas prowadzonych badań terenowych oraz jakościowych bez problemu można było zauważyć, że szalik to jeden z głównych atrybutów kibica. Analizie poddane zostało 100 szalików, które zostały
zakwalifikowane przez kibiców Legii Warszawa i Pogoni Szczecin, jako te posiadające znamiona ideologii. Zostały one wyodrębnione z grupy ok. 800 szalików, jakie posiadali ich kolekcjonerzy, a zarazem fanatycy swoich zespołów. Kibice w Polsce są niezwykle jednolici, jeżeli chodzi np. o kwestie antykomunizmu, co wynika również z historii miejscowego ruchu kibicowskiego. Środowisko kibiców piłki nożnej w Polsce
generuje wiele zagrożeń nie tylko bezpieczeństwa publicznego, ale również politycznego. Część z nich podszyta jest poglądami społeczno-politycznymi, dlatego też niezbędne jest zrozumienie charakteru środowiska oraz poglądów, jakimi kierują się kibice piłki nożnej w Polsce.

Las hinchadas de fútbol argentinas han sido objeto de importantes investigaciones etnográficas en los últimos años. Sin embargo no existen trabajos que tomen al conjunto de las hinchadas como objeto de estudio. El tamaño del campo desanima todo intento de relevamientos estadísticos de amplitud. Sin embargo creemos vislumbrar un fértil campo de análisis donde nuevos enfoques teóricos y metodológicos pueden ayudar a testear hipótesis ya formuladas dentro de otras perspectivas y descubrir nuevas líneas de indagación. Este trabajo presenta el estado actual de una investigación más amplia que intenta aplicar el análisis de redes sociales al estudio del conflicto intergrupal y el establecimiento de alianzas entre las hinchadas de fútbol argentinas. Se pudo relevar los datos reticulares necesarios para mapear y describir con relativo éxito la red social que, mediante relaciones de enemistad y amistad, vinculaba a 293 hinchadas argentinas hasta la temporada 2007⁄08. La importancia de este trabajo radica en que tenemos un conocimiento de las relaciones que mantiene cada hinchada pero desconocemos la forma global que adquiere ese entramado de relaciones. Y si bien las etnografías de hinchadas de fútbol han dado cuenta de los principios organizadores básicos de estos grupos sociales, no hemos sido capaces de articular esas particularidades en un marco global que tenga en cuenta a todas las hinchadas y a la dinámica general de la red que conforman. Entender esa dinámica implica plantear que "la estructura existente (de la red) sólo se puede comprender de forma adecuada en términos de la naturaleza de los procesos que condujeron a ella" (Watts, 2006). El entendimiento de estos procesos, en nuestro caso, involucra tres supuestos. El primero de ellos es que las hinchadas se comportan siguiendo reglas comunes de interacción que guían el establecimiento de un vínculo de enemistad o amistad entre dos hinchadas. El segundo de ellos trata sobre la pertenencia de los datos reticulares, puesto que no tuvimos control sobre el relevo de los datos, consideraremos que las enemistades y amistades señaladas son compartidas por la totalidad del colectivo. El tercero es que consideramos que las hinchadas ocupan un territorio que concuerda con los límites político-administrativos de las localidades, ciudades o provincias en donde se ubican sus estadios.

The purpose of my study is to examine how gender division was reflected in Swedish football supporter culture across the decades after World War Two. It also examines how masculinity was constructed
in this context and how supporters during this time perceived existing gender structures. The study contributes to the field by examining a yet unexamined period where other researchers focused on times before or after, with a focus on the connection between masculinity and violence. I
see a hypothetic connection to respectablility, having it’s glory days these same years. To answer these questions, I sought oral accounts from Malin Thor, Lars Hansson as well as Robert Perks and Alistair Thompson. In addition, in-depth interviews were conducted with six individuals who were active in the supporter culture of Malmö FF during these years. The theoretical foundation for my research and the understanding of my empiricism are gender- masculinity and crisis theories from Raewyn Connell, Rebecca Pearse and Michael A. Messner and popular science authors such as Marcus Priftis and Stephan Mendel-Elk. Raewyn Connell’s crisis theories were used to understand
the transformation of the Swedish terraces from the fifties to today. The results show that men and women were more separated before, physically and through perceptions of gender roles. During the
seventies, these social structures began to change. Violence became more relevant as an expression of masculinity for the men who used to feel secure in fixed gender roles and overt hierarchies. Sporting
arenas, work places and homes were all places segregated by gender and active agents in constructing gender roles. In these contexts, good character and restraint were central parts of masculinity.
At the same time, women were, at best, second-class supporters. Often, they were looked upon as girlfriends, wives or appendages to male supporters. When society rapidly began to change in its social structures during the seventies, a crisis in masculinity arose. This explains the more extreme form of verbal and physical expressions from men today. Today, far more women attend football games and play football compared to a few decades ago. Gender is not static but in constant change.
Social structure positions have shifted. Because of the fact that distance and differences between men and women have been reduced, it has become more important than ever to highlight these for certain groups of people.

Este artículo analiza un aspecto singular del fútbol contemporáneo: las prácticas de aliento que desarrollan los hinchas durante la contienda deportiva. Allí, ellos desencadenan una serie de estrategias que tienden a producir una victoria simbólica sobre los rivales circunstanciales. Esta competencia es singular porque conjuga simultáneamente elementos identificados con una dimensión trágica y con una dimensión cómica. Ambas dimensiones conviven y se mezclan para dar forma a las manifestaciones de los hinchas. Éstas últimas, a su vez, se desarrollan en sintonía con distintos aspectos de lo lúdico, en razón de su virtud creadora, espontánea y liberadora. No obstante, las acciones de los hinchas, que se desplazan entre la codificación y la improvisación, están basadas en una cosmovisión signada por una masculinidad que valora positivamente el coraje, el poder, fuerza y la agresividad. Los datos que sustenta el análisis surgieron de la observación participante y registros audiovisuales de 15 hinchadas de clubes de distintas divisiones deportivas. Dicho relevamiento, que comenzó en 2009 con un trabajo de campo con la hinchada de San Lorenzo, finalizó en 2013. Asimismo, la evidencia se completa con los datos construidos durante el trabajo de campo en el Club Atlético Independiente entre los años 2000 y 2008.

El presente trabajo tiene dos objetivos. El primero es describir  la práctica del canto entre los simpatizantes de fútbol argentinos utilizando  el enfoque dramatúrgico de Erving Goffman. El segundo es explicar cómo la  distribución en la tribuna popular de la barra, la hinchada militante y los  espectadores en general puede influir en que un canto alcance o no su máxima  intensidad. Nuestra hipótesis es que los hinchas argentinos han acumulado la  experiencia suficiente para reconocer que la concentración de los simpatizantes  más propensos al canto en la zona central de la tribuna es una estrategia  óptima para alcanzar una intensidad máxima en el canto. Para comprobar esta  hipótesis construimos un sencillo Autómata Celular que simula el canto  coordinado de una hinchada de fútbol.

Para el presente trabajo nuestros objetivos son, por una parte, reflexionar sobre cómo la aplicación de una perspectiva reticular (de red) al fenómeno de las relaciones entre hinchadas de fútbol puede contribuir al conocimiento de ese fenómeno al sortear obstáculos insuperables desde otras perspectivas, en donde se ha reconocido la dificultad de “cartografiar” el mapa de las enemistades y amistades (Garriga Zucal, 2002). Por otra parte, mostrar que el ARS puede ser una importante herramienta validadora de hipótesis derivadas de otros estudios en ciencias sociales, que a su vez funciona como una heurística para el descubrimiento de los factores que influyen en la estructura de las relaciones sociales existentes.

Women’s football has developed rapidly in recent years, and the interest in the
women’s game has grown steadily across Europe and the rest of the world with
record tv-viewing numbers of the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2019, record attendances
at women’s club football games in several countries, and ambitious strategy
documents published by the major football Governing bodies UEFA ad FIFA. The
game has also seen competition development, both at domestic and international
level, with a strong move towards strengthening club competitions at the elite level,
and an increasing professionalisation of teams.
Even though the women’s game is still trailing far behind men’s football in terms of
commercial revenue, there has been a growing positive trend for women’s football, for
instance with record sales of women’s football shirts during the last World Cup,
several ambitious sponsorship investments and both significant league naming right
deals and TV broadcasting deals for several women’s domestic leagues in Europe.
In the last few months, under the cloud of Covid-19, and together with the rest of the
football industry, women’s football has reached an abrupt halt. Interestingly, women’s
football was the first to be affected by the pandemic, when Olympic qualifying games
had to be moved in January from Wuhan, the epicentre of the initial outbreak.
Now, all the incredible gains of the last several years feel as if they happened
lightyears away and in a different world. Women’s football will certainly face serious
disruption once football operations will be allowed to resume. Major concerns are in
the air and even if women’s football had undergone important growth in the last
decade, it has not yet reached a satisfactory level of maturity nor independence vis-à- vis men’s football, which means that exiting from this crisis will be a challenge in itself.

Public relations practitioners are obliged to facilitate the dialogue between the organization and public. Dialogue plays an important role in sports clubs because the gathering of people from different perspectives and opinions formed by fan groups for a common goal is based on dialogue and tolerance. Public relations theories have important applications for sports clubs to improve their relations with their fan groups. Linking the relational results to the public relations process can contribute to a better understanding of the mission and vision of sports clubs by fan groups and to measure their support. Within the scope of the research, it was aimed to determine the effective strategies necessary for sports clubs to increase the number of fans and their support. In this context, as a result of the research conducted on 176 sports fans, it has been found out that public relations strategies (control mutuality, trust, satisfaction) are the pioneers of fans loyalty. Also, public relations perceptions were found to be a determining factor in supporting behaviors towards sports clubs. Sports fans define their relationship with sports organizations as a communal relationship based on one-sided support rather than an exchange based on mutual benefits. As a result of the research, some suggestions are made for sports clubs to improve the quality of their relations with their supporters' groups.

Celem tekstu jest przedstawienie wyników badania poświęconego zjawisku kibicowania piłkarskiego w Polsce, które pozwolą a) określić skalę zjawiska kibicowania piłkarskiego w Polsce oraz b) dokonać jego ogólnej charakterystyki przez określenie cech demograficznych kibiców i związku z tym c) wskazać możliwe obszary do dalszych badań. Wyniki przedstawione w artykule pochodzą z sondażu przeprowadzonego na losowej, reprezentatywnej próbie Polaków (N=1002) przez Centrum Badania Opinii Społecznej, do którego dołączony został blok pytań poświęcony kibicowaniu piłkarskiemu w Polsce.

The emphasized spatial positioning of football fans in Novi Sad is a topic that has not been explored in the relevant literature so far. This spatial positioning is based on numerous parameters: ethnicity, stratification, culture, relative distance from the center of the town, the time period when the given quarter was inhabited, and others. The study examines how football fans from Novi Sad construct their local (Novi Sad and narrower than that) and regional (Vojvodinian) territorial identity. It examines the discrepancy between the young men needs for belonging to the global youth subcultural lifestyle on the one hand, and on the other, for commitment to certain neighborhoods that express specific local urban identity. The results of the research indicate that in contrast to the concepts of group solidarity and masculinity, the territoriality of football fans has not been sufficiently studied in literature, although this phenomenon is quite significant, thus, a new widely applicable model for analysis is described in this paper, which can shed more light on this issue.
