Ending the week on a high note. The amazing folks at Girls Leadership announced the release of the pioneering study “Why We Lead: Understanding and Supporting the Leadership of Asian American Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Girls and Gender-Expansive Youth.” This report was driven by 17 AANHPI youth selected from a pool of over 500 applicants. “Why We Lead” is a clear call to action to support AANHPI girls and gender-expansive youth in their leadership journeys. Most AANHPI girls and gender-expansive youth are aspiring to leadership but we must create the conditions for them to lead. This includes: expanding our understanding of leadership as something rooted in culture and lived experience; learning and respecting what motivates leadership; acknowledging and addressing the internal and structural barriers they face; and leaning into the potential for school to be a source of the potential for school to be a source of community.community. https://lnkd.in/gDPPvSGZ

‘Maybe that makes a difference actually’ 💡: Attuning to praxis for anti-racist social justice leadership among nursery school head teachers in the UK 😊 The open-access article is now available 🔓 . It was a pleasure to write it with Mona Sakr and Magdalena Dujczynski. "This article shares a framework for anti-racist leadership within the early years profession. In doing so, it offers a stepping stone towards more formalised anti-racist praxis for early years professionals." #EarlyYears https://lnkd.in/eRW6Bn-f

We've seen time and again the incredible ripple effects that happen when young people are empowered to lead. From local service projects to global advocacy campaigns, youth are at the forefront of driving positive change in their communities. They bring fresh perspectives, bold ideas, and an unshakeable belief in a better tomorrow. But they can't do it alone. It takes a village of supportive adults, organizations, and institutions to nurture the next generation of changemakers. When we invest in youth leadership through mentorship, skill-building, and meaningful opportunities to serve, everyone benefits. How will you uplift the youth leaders in your life today? Tell us here: https://lnkd.in/esidyDdd - Ryan & Thomas Growney SG’24 #NewServiceAcademy Image description: Against a dark blue background, a white box displays the words "Empowered Youth, Thriving Communities," echoed by receding layers of the same sentence, copied, which fade into transparency at the back of the white box. Behind the white box, the words "Youth Service" are repeated over and over horizontally, in an orange Varsity/Letterman-style font.

🤝 **Leading with Respect and Compassion: 1 Timothy 5:1-2** 🤝 "Do not rebuke an older man but encourage him as you would a father, younger men as brothers, older women as mothers, younger women as sisters, in all purity." - 1 Timothy 5:1-2 (ESV) In educational leadership, fostering a respectful and compassionate community is essential. 1 Timothy 5:1-2 reminds us to treat everyone—students, staff, and colleagues—with the same kindness and respect we would show to our own family members. By creating an environment where people are valued and relationships are built on mutual respect, we cultivate a school culture where both personal and academic growth can flourish. Let’s lead with hearts full of empathy, treating each person with dignity and care. #EducationalLeadership #RespectAndCompassion #1Timothy512
