About us

Since 1996, Infosys Foundation has been trying to make communities and individuals stand on their feet. From helping communities affected by natural disasters, constructing toilets and building libraries for village schools, providing succor to Devadasi women, to donating funds for cancer treatment, scientific research and mid-day meals – if there is a worthy cause in sight, the Foundation is always there to support it. We take great pride in working with all sections of society, selecting projects with infinite care, and working in areas that traditionally overlooked by society at large. With a focus on the most remote regions of India, our initiatives span the areas of education, healthcare, women empowerment, and environmental sustainability amongst others.

There are many challenges to providing accessible and quality #healthcare in India. The lack of surgical equipment and diagnostic tools is causing a delay in treatment, leading to further health complications. The Pune DC CSR team, Sparsh, with the support of #InfosysFoundation, have made significant strides in enhancing healthcare infrastructure by establishing two modular operation theaters at the Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital. This state-of-the-art facility equipped with cutting-edge surgical equipment and advanced imaging technologies will enable the hospital to perform complex surgical procedures across various specialties. It is expected to directly benefit over 3,500 patients annually. This initiative is not just about infrastructure; it represents hope for the future of healthcare. The importance of modern medical equipment cannot be overstated. With the growing need for surgical procedures, these new theaters are crucial for meeting the increasing demand for quality medical care. The Foundation and our volunteers are dedicated to improving community well-being by ensuring that healthcare facilities are well-equipped. By empowering hospitals with essential resources, we are taking vital steps toward a healthier future for all, where quality care is within reach for every individual. #InfosysCSR I #CommunitySupport

In India, many schools struggle with inadequate infrastructure and essential facilities, hindering the growth and holistic development of both children and teachers. #InfosysFoundation has always aimed to bridge this gap, and recognized this urgent need and stepped in to support Karnataka Public School (KPS) Hoysalanadu in constructing a multi-purpose hall. This school focuses on fostering a cultural of learning, through innovative teaching methods, and conducts several co-curricular and teachers' training programs, but lacked a dedicated space for the same. The Infosys Foundation Hall was completed, and in a commitment to providing even more support, a library and dining hall were also constructed. These facilities can host thousands of students for co-curricular and educational activities, along with supporting 500 teachers for training programs. By investing in essential #infrastructure, the Foundation is empowering students and teachers to reach their full potential. This initiative exemplifies the transformative power of community support in education, paving the way for a brighter future for thousands of students. #InfosysCSR I #Education

#InfosysFoundation is committed to enhancing #healthcare infrastructure and providing aid in the state of Kerala, focusing on initiatives that create lasting impacts on local communities. The partnership with Sri Ramakrishna Sevashrama has enabled the Foundation to provide disaster relief to over 1,000 families affected by floods in tribal areas of the Pathanamthitta district, Kerala in 2022, as we are committed to providing community support during natural disasters. Recognizing the challenges faced by patients at the Government Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram, the Foundation funded the construction of a 100-meter, two-level skywalk, which was completed within a year. This vital connection from the main block to the outpatient center, blood bank, and scanning rooms, improves mobility for over 14 lakh outpatients annually, allowing patients to navigate the hospital safely and efficiently. It was inaugurated by then Chief Minister of Kerala, Pinarayi Vijayan. In the pursuit of advancing medical technology, the Foundation sponsored the procurement of a state-of-the-art neurosurgical operating microscope. This new equipment will significantly reduce surgery wait times and enhance patient outcomes, benefiting over 500 patients each year while also training neurosurgery residents in advanced procedures. Through these initiatives, we aim to build bridges in healthcare and ensure that essential services reach those who need them most, during trying times. #InfosysCSR | #CommunitySupport | #Infrastructure | #DisasterRelief

Visually impaired students often face significant challenges in their educational journeys, struggling with access to resources and the means to study effectively. Recognizing this, Dishari, the DC CSR group from Kolkata, decided to support these young learners to overcome this challenge. After visiting a school for visually impaired students, our volunteers witnessed firsthand the hurdles they faced. Realizing that older students were burdened by reading Braille books, which is a time-consuming process, our volunteers helped provide a solution that would cater to the specific needs of these children. With the support of #InfosysFoundation, audio kits equipped with recording features, earphones, and memory cards to students from classes 6 to 12. These kits empower students to record their in-person classes and learn the necessary study material downloaded by the school staff, providing students the opportunity to learn independently. With the press of a button, they can access educational resources without the laborious process of Braille reading, giving them more freedom and flexibility. A total of 110 students were benefitted. Through this initiative, our volunteers are striving to fulfil the Foundation’s aim of ensuring quality and accessible education for all. #InfosysCSR | #Accessibility | #Inclusion | #Education | #Technology | #SocialImpact

Every mother and child deserve the best care during the prenatal and postnatal periods. While hospitals and clinics provide these critical services, some women opt for home births, which leads to higher child and maternal mortality rates and health risks. To address this issue and encourage women to opt for institutional births, India is making strides toward improving #maternalhealth, led by interventions under the National Health Mission. As lack of funds is the primary reason why women choose home deliveries, cash assistance is provided for delivery and post-delivery care through the Janani Suraksha Yojana. Additionally, the Janani Shishu Suraksha Karyakram was introduced where deliveries are free. The Indian government is actively promoting institutional deliveries among those from underprivileged backgrounds. As a result, institutional deliveries have surged from 79% to 89% from the past six years, as per the National Family Health Survey-4 (2015-16) and NFHS-5 (2019-21). #InfosysFoundation is also committed to empowering mothers and newborns, by ensuring that quality care is accessible and affordable throughout the country. Our partnerships with C-CAMP and Sangath are positively impacting maternal care. From technological advancements to mental health support, we are ensuring every mother receives the care she deserves. We further aim to elevate #healthcare standards by reconstructing the Infant and Maternity Hospital in Karnataka. Together, we are building a healthier India, one mother and child at a time. #InfosysCSR
