With the autumn campus recruitment season kicking off, many Chinese students studying abroad are opting to return to China for job hunting. So, which industries are especially keen on hiring students with overseas backgrounds this autumn? And how can students stand out in the competitive job market? LinkedIn's research reveals that over 80% of overseas students prefer to return to China for career development after graduation, with high-tech/internet, financial services and insurance, and new energy sectors topping the list. Zhang Fan, a 2023 Chemistry PhD graduate, notes, "University positions are now saturated. I'm considering roles in domestic enterprises where salaries are two to three times higher." LinkedIn data shows 14% of Chinese overseas students are PhD candidates, drawing significant interest from Chinese companies. While overall campus recruitment has slightly decreased, demand for PhD talent is rising. Zhang has submitted over 100 resumes but finds many domestic brands lack credibility.
