- مؤتمر جنيف 2 للسلام في سوريا (أو فقط جنيف 2) هو مؤتمر دولي مقترح دعمته الأمم المتحدة وعقد في جنيف بهدف إنهاء الحرب الأهلية السورية من خلال الجمع بين الحكومة السورية والمعارضة السورية لمناقشة إمكانية تشكيل حكومة انتقالية في سوريا مع صلاحيات تنفيذية كاملة. كان هناك دور كبير لمبعوث الأمم المتحدة للسلام في سوريا الأخضر الإبراهيمي والرئيس الفلسطينى محمود عباس عبر وسيطه نضال السبع الذي كان وراء اعداد ورقة النقاط الثماني التي شكلت الارضية المناسبة لانعقاد مؤتمر جنيف2 هذه الاجواء الايجابية ادت إلى تعاون وثيق بين الولايات المتحدة وروسيا. وقد حددت الأمم المتحدة يوم 22 يناير 2014 موعدا لمحادثات السلام. - The Geneva II Conference on Syria (also called Geneva II Middle East peace conference or simply Geneva II) was a United Nations-backed international peace conference on the future of Syria with the aim of ending the Syrian Civil War, by bringing together the Syrian government and the Syrian opposition to discuss the clear steps towards a transitional government for Syria with full executive powers. The conference took place on 22 January 2014 in Montreux, on 23–31 January 2014 in Geneva (Switzerland), and again on 10–15 February 2014. This conference was pursued by UN peace envoy to Syria Lakhdar Brahimi in cooperation with the United States and Russia. According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, at least 1,870 people died across Syria during the nine days of the conference. New peace negotiations took place in 2016 in the new Geneva peace talks on Syria (2016). (en)
- La conferenza di pace Ginevra 2 è una conferenza internazionale appoggiata dall'ONU che si è tenuta a Montreux il 22 gennaio 2014 e a Ginevra dal 23 al 31 gennaio 2014. Un secondo turno di negoziati ha avuto luogo dal 10 al 15 febbraio 2014. L'incontro aveva come principale obiettivo il raggiungimento di una soluzione politica alla crisi siriana. Si sono incontrate le delegazioni rappresentanti il governo siriano e la Coalizione Nazionale Siriana, principale organismo politico dell'opposizione, anche se non rappresentante la totalità delle formazioni ribelli. La conferenza è stata organizzata dall'inviato speciale dell'ONU Lakhdar Brahimi in collaborazione con i governi di Stati Uniti e Russia. (it)
