On suboptimal control strategies for the Navier-Stokes equations. (English) Zbl 0912.49019
The authors discuss an optimal control problem for the Navier-Stokes equation, the goal being to diminish the recirculation. For that purpose they analyze two suboptimal methods, namely the instantaneous control strategy and reduced order modeling. They present numerical results concerning both methods.
