Dyson’s lemma without tears. (English) Zbl 0734.11039

The main theorem gives a remarkable and elegant generalization of Dyson’s lemma which has turned out to be a fundamental result due to Bombieri and others. The proof is based upon a skilful and elementary combinatorial argument and it was really done without tears of real suffering.
