Approximating fixed points of 2-generalized hybrid mappings in Banach spaces and CAT(0) spaces. (English) Zbl 1372.47074
The present paper deals with the study of some weak and strong convergence results for Ishikawa and Halpern iterations using 2-generalized hybrid mappings in uniformly convex Banach spaces. The author provides an affirmative answer to an open question posed by M. Hojo et al. [Nonlinear Anal., Theory Methods Appl., Ser. A, Theory Methods 75, No. 4, 2166–2176 (2012; Zbl 1295.47081)]. Also, results of strong and \(\Delta\)-convergence in Banach spaces are extended to CAT (0) spaces using 2-generalized hybrid mappings. Some examples and remarks are given to illustrate the results. These results improve and generalize some known results in the current literature.
