Giri, Fouad (ed.) et al., Block-oriented nonlinear system identification. Berlin: Springer (ISBN 978-1-84996-512-5/pbk; 978-1-84996-513-2/ebook). Lecture Notes in Control and Information Sciences 404, 35-51 (2010).
From the introduction: In the following the technique for compound mapping decomposition is presented that can reduce the complexity of system description. Then its application to block-oriented nonlinear dynamic systems of Hammerstein and Wiener types is shown. Finally, the identification of Hammerstein-Wiener systems with piecewise linear characteristics is presented where more and different ways of decomposition of the system operator are performed to simplify the system description.
