\(\sin n\). (English) Zbl 1069.33003

The paper starts with a proof that the inequalities \(| \sin n| <\sin\frac12\) and \(| \sin (n+1)| <\sin\frac12\) cannot be both vaild (\(n\) is an integer). A few generalizations are given, and these are put in the framework of random variables.
