A paper model of Morin’s surface. (English) Zbl 0708.52007

The surface mentioned in the title has been developed and studied by B. Morin and J. Petit in C. R. Acad. Sci., Paris, Ser. A. 287, 791-794 (1978; Zbl 0407.53033) and by B. Morin in ibid. 287, A879- 882 (1978; Zbl 0406.53001). It represents the halfway point of an eversion of the 2-sphere in 3-space and looks like a Boy’s surface with 4-fold symmetry.
