Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. I am glad to see that you are discussing a topic. However, as a general rule, talk pages such as Talk:Tom Petty are for discussion related to improving the article in specific ways based on reliable sources and the project policies and guidelines, not for general discussion about the topic or unrelated topics, or statements based on your thoughts or feelings. If you have specific questions about certain topics, consider visiting our reference desk and asking them there instead of on article talk pages. Thank you. - FlightTime (open channel) 19:20, 25 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Lighten up. I'm glad you're taking that "wikibreak". 11:22, 3 July 2018 (UTC)

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, discussion pages are meant to be a record of a discussion; deleting or editing legitimate comments, as you did at User talk:William Sherman, Esq., is considered bad practice, even if you meant well. Even making spelling and grammatical corrections in others' comments is generally frowned upon, as it tends to irritate the users whose comments you are correcting. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Cordless Larry (talk) 11:43, 3 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I should clarify that you are welcome to remove messages left by others on your own user talk page, but you shouldn't modify them like you did here. Cordless Larry (talk) 11:50, 3 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Wow, you guys, I really don't care. You can get out of my face. I'm not your little sycophant to be dominated here. Stop and think what fascists you're coming across as. William Sherman, Esq. (talk) 14:43, 4 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Done with this

[edit]

No longer even opening my user-talk page because pushy strangers who think they own the world are barging into it to chastise me for the mortal sin of editing MY OWN BLOODY PAGE INTO WHICH I DIDN'T INVITE THEM. If anyone wants to contact me, don't bother, 'cause if this is the level of discourse I can expect, leave me out of it. I didn't start making minor edits of punctuation & spelling because I wanted fascist pedants out to exert power over others' USER-TALK PAGES to try to run my life. William Sherman, Esq. Logging out permanently

[edit]

I will no longer be using this account due to the evident tendency of strangers to think they & not I should be in control of its user-talk page & by extension my life. That simply will not be permitted to continue. Y'all can continue to get your kicks by having your little cliques & ganging up on someone to exert control over his behavior on his own page & wasting your life in that pursuit; I am out.
