Criminal Minded Producer

[edit]

I don't think this article gives Ced the credit he deserves for BDP's Criminal Minded. It's well established that he was heavily involved in producing the album - indeed, the Wikipedia article on Criminal Minded says so. This page makes it sound as if his role only extended to lending them his gear. Melaena (talk) 20:02, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The above statement is at the very least debatable. The exact wording on the back of the Criminal Minded album is "All songs written and produced by KRS-One & Scott LaRock - Special thanks to Ced-Gee". How exactly that has gotten twisted around to Ced Gee being "heavily involved in producing the album" remains a question yet to be answered. The Criminal Minded Wikipedia page says "in interviews it has been revealed" that Ced Gee had a hand in "crafting the sound". I'm willing to believe that, but I wouldn't mind seeing at least one of these interviews. After a thoroughly exhaustive search on both YouTube and Google, I didn't find one interview on video or in print that matched that claim. I found plenty of people continuing to spread this completely unfounded rumor, and if that's what the person above is going on, you should learn how citations work on Wikipedia pages (AND YOU CAN'T JUST CITE OTHER WIKIPEDIA PAGES!!!). If you play the first Ultramagnetic MCs album and the first Boogie Down Productions album side by side, it is clear that they are using the same beat machine on these two albums. It's entirely possible that Ced-Gee secretly produced the entire album, but up to this point I have neither seen nor heard any evidence that can back up that he even produced one song on the album. As anyone using Wikipedia should, anyone looking at this Wikipedia entry should do their own fact checking. Adamcaligne (talk) 11:40, 3 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
