Motivation
[edit]most recepies prescribe precise amounts for each ingredient. in these cases we can simply use quantity (P1114) to depict the amount. But some recepies also contain an instruction about how to find the correct quantity: such as the offical recepie for Boody Mary: Tabasco, Celery Salt, Pepper (Up to taste). Discussion
[edit]- Comment @Loominade: in the meantime, there was Wikidata:Property_proposal/descriptive_solubility created as descriptive solubility (P8459). I suppose I'd support this if more likely values were given. --- Jura 10:54, 18 July 2020 (UTC)
- Jura1 can you please give an example? --Loominade (talk) 07:49, 20 July 2020 (UTC)
- You just mentioned to taste (Q89895024) and until cup is full (Q89895393). If there were more, I might support the proposal. See the series of values given for descriptive_solubility for comparison. --- Jura 07:51, 20 July 2020 (UTC)
- this is everything that i was able to come up with. will need to read some recipes. if you have an idea for a possible value, let me know. --Loominade (talk) 08:03, 20 July 2020 (UTC)

- Oppose I tried to think of more values, but all I came up with are qualitative (rather than quantitative) instructions: heat water "until boiling," cook "until golden brown," stir solution "until solute is completely dissolved," mix batter "until smooth," when using shampoo: "repeat as necessary." Perhaps we could broaden the scope of this property to include those, somehow, otherwise there doesn't seem to be enough demand for the proposed quality. You might also want to ping the Chemistry project; they might have suggestions. The-erinaceous-one (talk) 22:15, 13 September 2020 (UTC)
