Happy National Intern Day! Today, we are celebrating all 16 Interns who are spending the summer with us at RMS. Our interns work both in our Birmingham office and our various field offices, contributing to our efforts in a variety of forestry and investment-related roles. They are managed by members of our team and their presence each summer helps energize our firm by giving us an opportunity to interact with and mentor young people who share our passion for forestry and who will be the next generation of professionals to create forest value for investors, landowners and society. #CreatingForestValueSince1950 #Interns #Careers #Forestry #Investment

Happy Forester Day in Brazil! Today, we celebrate in tribute to St. John Gualberto, an Italian monk who dedicated his entire life to the cultivation and protection of forests during the tenth century and was therefore consecrated by Pope Pius XII as the "Protector of the Foresters”. At RMS, we think our Foresters truly stand out. They combine a deep understanding of the investment needs and priorities of our clients with sophisticated professional expertise and practical knowledge of both the art and science of their profession. Our foresters are an important part of RMS' approach to generating value for our clients and we believe they set us apart in ways that our investors recognize and appreciate. #CreatingForestValueSince1950 #ForestryDay #Brazil #SustainableInvestment #Forestryprofessionals

https://lnkd.in/eiSY7z56 Glad to have you with us this summer Darius!
I am thrilled to announce my summer internship with Resource Management Service LLC, LLC (RMS) in Wilmington, North Carolina. RMS is one of the world's largest and most experienced providers of timberland investment services. Throughout this internship, I am enhancing my data analytical skills, field knowledge, and communication abilities, while delving into the diverse aspects of forestry. I am gaining insights into managing forest sustainability alongside optimizing near-term cash yields and long-term timber operations. Understanding forest management is crucial to comprehending the sustainability of forestry practices. According to RMS, "Forest management entails establishing and executing a succession of forestry activities and regimes over the biological and economic life cycle of a forest to improve its productive capacity and financial performance." The life cycle of forest management includes the following stages: 1. Forest Planning 2. Site Preparation and Reforestation 3. Growth Management 4. Risk Management 5. Harvest Management I would like to express my gratitude to Mr. Tony Doster, Mrs. Mary Kay Greer, all of the foresters at the Wilmington office for helping me with the onboarding process. This internship has been an incredible experience so far, and I am eager to continue learning from such a distinguished organization.

Last week, RMS’s Senior Vice President of Forest Sustainability, Jimmy Bullock had the honor of participating on the panel discussing “Conservation of Species at Risk in SFI-Certified Forests” at the SFI Annual Conference in Atlanta, Georgia. The conference brought together SFI-certified organizations, community and conservation leaders, Indigenous representatives, government officials, researchers and educators to emphasize the critical role that forest certification and landowners play in providing solutions to social and environmental challenges, including the conservation of biological diversity. The conference was well-attended by approximately 400 participants, including Dr. Michael Berger, Secretary General for PEFC. With over 30 years of experience in the field, Jimmy Bullock is a renowned expert in sustainable forestry and conservation. His leadership at RMS has been instrumental in our company vision of advancing the practice of forestry and appreciation for the societal importance of privately-owned forests. Jimmy’s deep understanding of forest ecosystems and his commitment to sustainability make him a key voice in the industry. Thank you Jimmy for representing RMS with such passion and expertise.
