The FlockLeader team attended SuperZoo in Las Vegas last week, where 1,120 pet industry experts and exhibitors from around the world gathered to show their latest pet products. Our backyard chicken keeping team had an incredible experience at the show, and we are thrilled to be recognized for the third year in a row at SuperZoo's New Product Showcase for our latest product launch: Freedom Fly, a 100% USA supply chain black soldier fly larvae (BSFL) poultry treat that is disrupting a market saturated with imported and unsafe BSFL. What an honor! THANK YOU to everyone at SuperZoo who visited our booth and supported us!

What a morning in Tappahannock! Earlier today, our associates and farmers joined Perdue and community leaders to celebrate the 50th anniversary of our Tappahannock Grain Elevator and Barge Terminal. Our farmers chatted with our team to learn more about our operations, enjoyed a delicious breakfast, and experienced a grain engulfment rescue simulation demonstration! Special thanks to Virginia Secretary of Agriculture Matthew Lohr and Beth Green for joining us, and to Jim Perdue for carrying on the family tradition—his father, Frank, attended the 25th anniversary of this same elevator. It’s always a pleasure to be with our farmers and community partners!

Grain engulfment numbers have been on the rise in the United States in recent years, and we’re partnering up with first responders in the communities where we have grain elevators to educate about safe rescue procedures!   In this video footage of a recent Grain Engulfment Rescue Simulation and training event we organized in North Carolina, you can see participants from Elizabeth City FD, Inter County Volunteer FD, Nixonton FD, Weeksville Volunteer FD, and South Camden Volunteer FD learning about and practicing how to handle grain engulfment.   This training is part of our “Mission to Zero” safety campaign: a goal is to have zero accidents causing serious injury or fatalities that involve tractor or ATV accidents, grain engulfment, or moving equipment or hazardous energy. We’re so thankful for partnership from local first responders in North Carolina and in all the communities where we live and work!     #safety

This week, our team had the pleasure of hosting nearly 500 farmers and family members in Pennsylvania at our Bainbridge Grain Elevator and Oilseed Crush Plant.   This facility, which opened in 2017, is a valuable asset for our company AND for our farm partners. At the event, we had the opportunity to thank farmers for all they do and share a bit more about our operations at Bainbridge. Associates chatted with farmers about grain origination, soybean processing, safety, environmental initiatives, and our Value Added and Perdue Animal Nutrition programs.   We even had a bounce house, corn hole boards, and milkshakes for the kids! (Okay, we ALL enjoyed the world-famous shakes from the PA Dairyman’s Association.) We also offered ongoing grain bin safety demonstrations and had local Fire and EMS on site as well. Everyone loved the golf cart tours of the facility and enjoyed a delicious breakfast.   It’s always a pleasure to be with our farmers—we’re so glad they all braved the heat to come out and see us!
