The nightmarish horrors of Raccoon City have found its way again to selected Apple devices as another Resident Evil game is set to release towards the end of 2024, which mobile players can soon relive (or re-experience) a fraction of the game for free. Japanese developer and publisher Capcom announced Resident Evil 2 Remake is coming soon for multiple Apple devices, including the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, selected iPad devices, and Mac PCs that support M1 and M2 chips and newer.

Resident Evil 2 Remake became the fourth RE game heading to Apple devices after Capcom brought RE 4, 7: Biohazard, and Village to the Apple App Store. Alongside the game's release for the Apple platform, they've detailed the official system requirements on the official Resident Evil site for the supported devices, additional supported features, and a release date.

Excited RE players and fans can look forward to the launch of Resident Evil 2 Remake for Apple/iOS devices, listed on its page via the App Store to be 31st December 2024 but it may be subject to change. The official Resident Evil website has made a functionality available that redirects players to the App Store page where they can pre-register, as long as their preferred Apple device meets the game's outlined system requirements ahead of its release.

As of writing, Capcom has yet to release details surrounding the game's pricing; however, it will include a few additional features included at launch. The first being is that it will support external peripherals like wireless controllers, but if they don't have a PlayStation or Xbox controller, the game will feature built-in touch controls that can be tailored to their preferences.

The game's App Store listing clearly states that "a limited part of the base game can be played for free;" however, to fully re-experience the horrors of Raccoon City, "an in-app purchase" will be required to play the entirety of Resident Evil 2 Remake. Furthermore, the game looks to be around 31GB in size, so cross-platform saves between Apple devices won't be supported at release, and a stable internet connection is needed to launch the game.
