Let's face it, the film clearly shows how naïve cinematography was in Hollywood in the early 1930s and how they were afraid to depict certain scenes. The final kiss is a beautiful proof of that. On the other hand, how often do you see John Wayne as a man who's supposed to be hanged? Not very often. The film has a relatively interesting plot for its time, unfortunately it is resolved very quickly. As a reminder of old times, it's fine, but in the genre, it's just average. ()
