I don't know if another part would have been brilliant, but from the half-hour that remains, it didn't seem like a huge loss that four out of seven reels are lost. Of course, John Ford could have surprised us, but primarily it's simply a story about an Irish immigrant in America, and about how life here wasn't easy, and that living the American dream wasn't simple even back then.
