Richard Gere delivers a great performance in a film that perhaps didn't quite deserve it. This is a film about showcasing the solitude of a person who is afflicted mentally as well as with drugs, specifically painkillers. It's a somewhat worn-out theme that even a great actor can't save or elevate if the screenplay doesn't bring something interesting to the table. ()
