A Professor and his family move into an ancient house which hides a treasure and is plagued by ghosts of former owners. Plenty of chills and chuckles, with Margaret Hamilton cleverly cast as a sinister housekeeper. (Park Circus)

The movie 13 Ghosts might not scare many people nowadays, but there are still intriguing scenes, filmed in a very peculiar style, and the horror elements are still present. We're just a bit more desensitized now. I think Castle wouldn't succeed with something like that in today's world. Or he would adapt to the present. For me, his films are just great, even if they don't necessarily fulfill the horror function, they are entertaining. ()
