An MR damper is a device that exhibits a high nonlinear and complex behavior with a hysteresis phenomenon. A comparison between different state-of-the-art and a Linear Parameter Varying (LPV) models for Magneto-Rheological (MR) dampers is presented. Several experimental datasets validate that Linear Parameter Varying (LPV)-based model outperforms the classical MR damper models for 51% than any structures considering the Error to Signal Ratio index and 37% better considering the Squared root of Sum of Squared Errors index.

The performance and impact of a decentralized biomass gasifier-based power generation system in an unelectrified village are presented. In Hosahalli village, Karnataka, India, lighting, drinking water, irrigation water and flour-milling services are provided using power derived from the biomass gasifier-based power generation system. The system consists of a 20 kW gasifier-engine generator system with all the accessories for fuel processing and electricity distribution.The biomass power system has functioned for over 14 years (1988–2004) in Hosahalli village (population of 218 during 2003), meeting all the electricity needs of the village. Lighting and piped drinking water supply using biomass electricity, was provided for over 85% of the days during the past six years. The fuel, operation and maintenance cost ranged from Rs 5.85/kWh at a load of 5 kW to Rs 3.34/kWh at a load of 20 kW. Background: Effectiveness of any individualized therapeutic modality in reducing pain in frozen shoulder is questionable and the combination of therapies has contradictory results. Objectives: The purpose of this study was to check the effectiveness between the treatment modalities of Ultrasound therapy and End range mobilization over Cryotherapy and Stretching as a treatment program in alleviating pain of patients with frozen shoulder. Methods: Forty subjects diagnosed to have frozen shoulder were randomly assigned to two groups. Subjects in Group I received Ultrasound therapy and End range mobilization of shoulder while subjects in Group II got Cryotherapy and Stretching of shoulder. In the present work, the effect of rice husk filler loading (10%, 20%, 25%, 30%, and 35%) on the mechanical properties of recycled low density polyethylene (RPE) and mixed with 20 percent weight fraction of virgin polyethylene (MPE) composites was aimed to be investigated. The waste polyethylene was blended with virg in polyethylene and the composites of RPE and MPE were moulded with the addition of rice husk filler using injection moulding machine at a pressure 150MPa and temperature 160oC. The composites were cut into specified dimensions and mechanical properties were conducted on them. Tensile strength increased up to 10 percent weight fraction of rice husk filler in the composites and later decreased above 10 percent filler loading. Tensile modulus, flexural strength and modulus, and Brinell hardness increases with increased filler loading, but impact strength decreases with increased in filler loading.
