Please remove the background of this non free image and upload it at the destination given above. I actually tried to remove the background but ended up removing the light blue border of the logo which the software couldn't recognize as the background was also blue and ended up putting a white background when trying to remove, which makes 2 mistakes. Even the logo File:Nvok logo.png also has this light blue border, which may help in recognizing the light blue border when extracting the logo properly.  Done King Prithviraj II I'm unsure on the language/words being used for that image so I'll let you handle the upload since it seems you're familiar with this subject. The image needs to be uploaded since the old image is a JPEG and the new one is a PNG. Here is a link for the edited image. - Offnfopt(talk) 22:06, 8 September 2017 (UTC) @Offnfopt: Thanks, uploaded at File:Ningalkkum Aakaam Kodeeshwaran logo.jpg. The new one too seems to be a jpg, maybe imgur converted it. Thanks, King Prithviraj II (talk) 07:32, 9 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

New Montreal flag and coat of arms

Request
Today (13 September 2017), The city of Montreal has officially changed it's flag and coat of arms on the 375th anniversary to add a red circle into the red cross and also adding a white pine tree coloured yellow. This tree represents the Indigenous peoples living in Montreal and complements the four other floral emblems of the four settler nations in the city. Additionally, upload the tree as a separate file so it can used in the pages about the flag and coat of arms.

Here is an article about the change and some pictures too. https://rcinet.ca/en/2017/09/13/on-its-375th-birthday-montreal-refashions-city-emblems-to-honor-indigenous-peoples/

Make sure Armoiries de Montréal.svg uses the exact version used officially (unless such changes infringe copyright). Finally, I'd like to thank everybody here in advance for doing this request. --109.79.1.241 (talk) 22:24, 13 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Update: It turns out that Flag of Montreal.svg was already changed by the time I post the original request. I spent a lot of time typing this so it didn't update until I went to the Montreal page. This means I've removed the jpg file (Mtl-Drapeau-Couleur-29-08-2017.jpg) to be used as a base as part one of the request has been completed. You are still free to do the other parts of the request and do any improvements to the flag file as you see fit. Again. Thanks in advance.--109.79.1.241 (talk) 22:45, 13 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. Could someone upload these four historic maps? [1]-[2]-[3]-[4]. I'm having difficulties trying to save them. You can use this link for the license (taken from the site itself).[5] Thanks much in advance, - LouisAragon (talk) 00:04, 16 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Graphist opinion(s)

LouisAragon I've added the first map, see link above in the gallery. I'll attempt to do the others when I get more time if someone else hasn't done them. If you could, can you please look over the information on the page and make any edits that are needed and if possible add the correct categories, thanks. - Offnfopt(talk) 01:33, 16 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Edit: I'm going to re-upload the images, I feel like a dunce, I manually downloaded the image tiles for that map and pieced them back together and only now did I realize there was a export button.. so that should speed things up. Offnfopt(talk) 01:48, 16 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Edit2: One of the files were already uploaded and looks like Guanaco has helped out and beat me to uploading the files. Thanks Guanaco. - Offnfopt(talk) 02:11, 16 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Dayum. Thanks alot both of you. Btw @Offnfopt:, could you perhaps also create a separate upload of Persia, Caspian Sea, part of Independent Tartary.png "Persia, Caspian Sea, part of Independent Tartary", zoomed in on the Caucasus region? And one separate upload of "La Perse la Georgie et la Turquie d'Asie, by Nicolas de Fer.jpg", also zoomed in on the Caucasus region? I really need a close-up of Persia's provinces in that area for two articles im trying to raise to GA. - LouisAragon (talk) 15:05, 16 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
LouisAragon sorry for the delay, I was unavailable. I think you may want to first try the CropTool on commons. Since you know the exact boundaries for the areas you want for the articles may be better to use the CropTool. If you haven't used the crop tool before you may need to enable it first in the gadgets menu here C:Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-gadgets, you'll find it listed under the "Interface: Editing and uploads" section. Enable it there and click the save button on the very bottom. After doing that when you view a image on commons you'll see "CropTool" listed on the left listed under tools, you can use that to create a image with just the area you need. - Offnfopt(talk) 23:37, 19 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Futurist110 Are the colours of the ribbon important as the 6 created in 2010 use colours of the rainbow in order. Tsange (Talk) 19:29, 24 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
No, the colors of the ribbons aren't important. Indeed, I would be extremely grateful simply for having such medals actually be made. Futurist110 (talk) 19:34, 24 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Also, while one is at it, there need to be ribbons created from 150 DYK?s and 250 DYK?s as well. Futurist110 (talk) 20:52, 24 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Futurist110 Since the number is the only variable, I have been able to create dynamic medals which will display any number on the award
Are they any use? Tsange (Talk) 09:52, 25 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Excellent work, Tsange! Indeed, I'll have to test them, but I think that they would work just fine! Futurist110 (talk) 21:13, 25 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

please remove gold dropshadow as not part of flag, per WPMOS… -- Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 02:08, 26 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Graphist opinion(s)

Kintetsubuffalo that is not a drop shadow but a gold fringe. The gold fringe can change the meaning of a flag. As a example see Flag of Spain#Royal Standards of Spain. The King of Spain uses the Royal Standard while his military personal carry the same flag, but with a gold fringe added. Though there are other cases such as with the USA flag which added fringe is just decorative. I'd be wary of removing that fringe without additional research being done. - Offnfopt(talk) 07:41, 26 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

OffnfoptThat was what I thought at first, but it doesn't go to the top all the way. The odd shape is what throws me. Can you then extend the border to the top?--Kintetsubuffalo (talk) 11:30, 26 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Kintetsubuffalo It may seem unusual to you, but I'm still a bit wary on changing it. I've seen many flags where the fringe stopped at that same point. The original editor of the image made that change with the comment that the edits were making the flag more like the original which leads me to believe they had reference material while the change requested here are based on visual preference. Without additional research I'm wary to make changes. If another editor would like to take on the edit that is up to them, but I can't bring myself to do it. I'd recommend that if the flag is edited to have it uploaded under a separate file name. - Offnfopt(talk) 13:17, 26 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Tuchiel you need to be more specific on your request. This is the Graphics Lab, a place to come to request edits to graphics or request new graphics to get created. What is your request? - Offnfopt(talk) 19:47, 27 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. Well, in this case my request would be to modify the flag file in such a way that the current disproportion of the flag to the seal above within the said template is reduced (for a better-looking example cf. Template:Members_of_the_U.S._House_of_Representatives_from_Louisiana). Would that be makeable?--Tuchiel (talk) 21:24, 27 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Based on the Massachusetts flag specification that flag is correct, there isn't anything to fix. The top/bottom allowed ratio spacing allowed the COA to be a hair bigger, but not much, which I went ahead and changed. But that is just how the flag was designed. You could instead just use the coat of arms File:Coat of arms of Massachusetts.svg instead of the flag, though I myself don't see any real benefit in having the seal, flag or any of those type of images included on those type of navigation templates. - Offnfopt(talk) 22:59, 27 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, thank you anyway. I guess, it would then probably be best to leave everything as it is, right?--Tuchiel (talk) 18:14, 28 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I think it is fine as is, you could even remove the seal and flag from the template and I think it would be fine that way too. - Offnfopt(talk) 18:15, 6 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

But it should be a spacing between track line and frame. --Mark McWire (talk) 05:04, 2 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Do you mean a margin between the track and the border of the image? Most existing track diagrams that I could find did not have a margin, which I think is more useful than having a margin, because spacing around an image can be added in the wikitext. Having a margin in the image itself can look uneven if it is not consistent between multiple diagrams; having no margin ensures that the question of spacing around the diagrams can be determined and consistently applied on a per-page basis. However, if needed, a copy of the diagram can be uploaded with a small margin. Cheers, Sn1per (talk) 04:03, 11 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I've vectorized the Dover International Speedway map in the same fashion as the Daytona and Talladega maps. Is that appropriate, or would you prefer I make a version more similar to the original? Cheers, Sn1per (talk) 02:04, 22 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I am wondering if the same could be done for the logo of Al-Shorta SC? Here is a link to a high quality png of the logo: https://s7.postimg.org/eg8bxx523/Al_Shorta_Sports_Club_Logo.png. I'll paste my reply to another similar request, unfortunately there are a few problems with this type of request. The image(s) are non-free, this means in order for us to be able to display them here on the english wikipedia we have to use fair use rationality. Because of the fair use requirements we have to use what is considered "low resolution". SVG files they can be scaled up 4000% without distortion since they are vectors. This means that SVG files fail this requirement of "low resolution", which means it fails the fair use requirements so we can't use them. There is one exception to this point, wikipedia does allow SVG files to be uploaded as non-free/fair use images only if the SVG file came from the company that owns the copyright. For instance some companies provide branding/press packages you can download that will at times contain vector graphics. Sorry to say that because of the fair use rules we can't create the SVG files. Sorry I couldn't help you out this time, but feel free to come back to the Graphic Lab for any other requests. - Offnfopt(talk) 18:21, 6 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
