The members of the ALA team are always friendly and helpful, and once again I was able to purchase what I needed with ease. Although I have never had cause to use the GAP Insurance I have had policies with ALA for many years and always take out a new one when I change my car.

The process to change my cover to a new vehicle was so straight forward and easy. Dawn was really friendly and helpful and it only took a few minutes to make the changes with all the documents being received by email before the call had ended and I was also able to have a paper copy. I also like the way they refund any balance from the old policy.

Having just bought a new car for close to £50k with a PCP agreement, I wanted to take out a GAP policy. Having used ALA in the past, I went straight to their website without looking elsewhere. They offered two policies: Vehicle Replacement Plus and Return To Invoice. The first one is arguably slightly more suitable if you've got a car with a high or individual spec that may be more difficult/expensive to replace, although it is also slightly more expensive. Return To Invoice was most suited for my needs and a 2-year policy on £47,000 purchase price for a 3-year old X5 was £222 (approx. £20 less than Vehicle Replacement Plus, for comparison).
While deliberating between the two options, I even received a call from ALA as the application was showing as pending for some time, so they called to check if I needed any further information. OK, it's a sales call to nudge you toward purchase but it wasn't pressurised in anyway and genuinely felt like they were calling to see if I was unsure about anything.
Setting up the policy is very simple as their site is easy to navigate and the application process very succinct. The premium is around 3x cheaper than the one offered by the authorised dealer...for what is essentially the same product, so ALA's represents great value for money.
Overall, a good policy at a very good price.
