Public consultation on VCMI’s beta #Scope3 Claim is now open for participation. 📋 We welcome wide-ranging input from stakeholders to help shape a Scope 3 Claim that is robust as possible, enabling companies to go further and faster on additional greenhouse gas emissions reductions. This will ensure the requirements and recommendations covered by VCMI's Scope 3 Claim are clear, effective, and further strengthen transparency. Once final, the Claim will offer a mechanism for companies to take greater action on scope 3 emissions they have been unable reduce -- emissions that would otherwise not be accounted for or addressed. It will also help grow wider participation in high-integrity voluntary #carbonmarkets to deliver critical flows of finance to #climate projects. That is why capturing the perspectives of diverse groups is essential to delivering an impactful Claim. We invite you to learn more and participate here: https://ow.ly/RTji50TcpW8 #VCM #CarbonCredits #ClimateAction #CarbonMarkets BSI, BSI Sustainability
About us
VCMI is an international non-profit empowering companies, governments and non-state actors to realize the full potential of high-integrity voluntary carbon markets (VCMs). VCMI provides guidance on how different actors can make voluntary use of carbon credits to make a meaningful impact on climate action. Here's how: 1.) VCMI's Claims Code of Practice enables companies to make ‘Carbon Integrity’ Claims, recognizing their achievements in going above and beyond science-aligned emissions cuts to accelerate global net zero. 2.) The Access Strategies Program supports host-country governments to establish policies and processes necessary to build and strengthen a cohesive governance of VCMs that underpin their country’s participation in high-integrity voluntary carbon markets.

Make your voice heard in the development of VCMI’s beta Scope 3 Claim: public consultation is now open. 💬 We’re seeking feedback from a broad range of voices to ensure a robust and impactful Scope 3 Claim. This is an opportunity to contribute to a framework that will support companies in addressing emissions they haven’t yet been able to reduce, driving ambitious climate action through voluntary carbon markets — with guardrails in place to ensure the Claim is used alongside, not instead of, rapid decarbonization.
