Gastroenterologi^[1] merupakan cabang perubatan yang bertumpu kepada sistem pencernaan dan gangguan.

Penyakit yang menjejaskan saluran pencernaan, yang merangkumi organ-organ dari mulut menjadi dubur, di sepanjang saluran pencernaan, adalah fokus khusus ini. Doktor yang mengamalkan bidang ini dipanggil ahli gastroenterologi. Mereka biasanya telah menyelesaikan kira-kira lapan tahun pendidikan pra-perubatan dan perubatan, latihan selama setahun (jika ini bukan sebahagian daripada residensi), tiga tahun dalam kediaman perubatan dalaman, dan dua hingga tiga tahun dalam persahabatan gastroenterologi.
