Improve UX success by measuring, managing, and prioritizing design debt. We love Joana Cerejo’s article (by way of Juan Fernando Pacheco) as a practical guide to measuring and managing design debt, focusing on transforming businesses into user-centered successes. Design debt is akin to technical debt, reflecting the accumulated effects of past design and development decisions that negatively impact user experience. Check out her post: https://lnkd.in/gFXCCQqa Types of design debt: UX design debt ↳Directly affects business goals by impacting adoption rates, learnability, and user satisfaction. Operational design debt ↳Results from inefficient processes and poor organizational structures supporting design and development teams. Visual design debt ↳UI inconsistencies that undermine the product’s credibility. Testing and research debt ↳Lack of UX research and testing leads to poor user experiences and lower product adoption. Understanding and addressing design debt is necessary for enhancing user satisfaction and achieving business success. Joana emphasizes the importance of a strategic approach to managing design debt, aligning design improvements with business objectives for optimal results. We agree! Using iterative design and continuous research with Helio is an amazing way to reduce your design debt and create a business lift. #uxresearch #productdiscovery #marketresearch #productdesign

Sprintfolio
One of the *many* great things about Sprintfolio is that designers get the opportunity to work on real projects with real companies! See what this is all about by listening in to our @idrinth/api-bench client kick off call today (5/15) from 1-2pm EST! @idrinth/api-bench is a framework for measuring and monitoring api (and website) response times. It is meant to make it simpler for devs, ops and qa people by making it easier to write reusable code. This is a great way for designers to understand how to work cross-functionally with dev teams so DON'T MISS IT!! sign up here to attend: https://loom.ly/x2emk3Q #ux #ui #devs #sprintfolio

🇬🇧 How can Product Designers actively help companies meet business goals and deliver value without losing sight of creativity, innovation and people's needs? Now that the side effects of the forced digitalisation brought by the pandemic are wearing off, there's an overall feeling that design and designers failed the task of leveraging strategy and providing real value to businesses. And it seems like one of the reactions from the design community was to isolate ourselves from the context we are all inserted in, focusing on trending tools, and ignoring what makes us unique in the conversation. I am here to recommend you all listen to Kevin Bethune talk to Rafael Burity and Rodrigo Lemes about his perspective on how designers can bridge that gap.

Design is a pursuit of outcomes while simultaneously displaying both errors of commission and omission. The best nutritional design may be rendered completely ineffective by a lack of activity, inconsistent sleep, and increased stress. Conversely, a completely unintentional approach to nutrition may render positive outcomes if the person is intentional with a high degree of physical activity while maintaining a healthy Circadian Rhythm and properly integrating or releasing stress. The ability to realize desired outcomes will always be impacted by the potential of dormant, obscure, semi-activated, and threatening variables found both within an ecosystem and across ecosystems. Design is intentional Adaptation.

Your website is your digital storefront. But how do you make it capture visitors and turn them into customers? There is a ton of magic in UX/UI design, from strategic planning to visual psychology. ✨ It's important to: -Craft a user-friendly experience that guides visitors toward your goals. -Leverage color, hierarchy, and mobile-first design for maximum impact. -Infuse your brand identity into every click and scroll #marketing #salesfunnel #growyourbusiness #bigredjelly #build #grow #branding #business #agency #marketingtips #websitedesign #UXdesign #UIdesign https://hubs.li/Q02vP0w10

Determine high-priority features in less than an hour. Get everyone in a room. Pass out stickies. Document every task users perform on your app. One task per sticky. Write furiously for 15 minutes. Group similar stickies into feature sets. (Below you’ll see a photo of a workshop I led where we condensed ~70 tasks to 17 features.) Vote for the 3 features you believe are most important to the user. Initial beside your desired feature to cast a vote. The two features with the highest vote count are your high-priority features. Congratulations. 1. Document 2. Group 3. Vote sinpl rlly 🥂

I’m a big fan of Duolingo’s brand and love how they’ve designed this new NYC office. Designing an office presents so many different considerations than product design. Yet we can identify many parallel design principles. Occupants = Personas Rooms = Screens Paint = Color Bench = Visual resting points Lighting = Light/Dark mode Decor = Decorative elements Hardware = UI Wayfinding = Nav and labels So many more… This is my approach whether I’m designing a museum exhibit or an app. It helps me consider the broader experience and I can apply thinking from the virtual world to the physical. Can you think of other parallels across design disciplines that you have used?

I’m working with start-ups who struggle with design challenges—tight budgets, limited resources, no in-house team. It’s a common problem. But it doesn’t have to be. I offer tailored design services that fill this gap, helping start-ups bring their ideas to life, whether it’s an MVP, a design system, or empowering your in-house design team by providing design support. I understand the pressures you face and the importance of getting it right. Design shouldn’t hold you back. Let’s make sure it doesn’t. 💡 When budgets tighten, UX often takes a hit—yet it's when you need it most. Over the past month, two hesitant clients came to us with high bounce rates, onboarding dropouts, and untapped MRR potential. Delegating UX to the CTO/CEO led to stagnation and a high CAC. 🚀 The takeaway? UX is an investment in your sales funnel and unit economics. To scale effectively, you need dedicated UX leaders who: ✅ Bring industry-wide expertise ✅ Iterate quickly, accelerating growth ✅ Reduce costly mistakes ✅ Harmonize your GTM strategy Don't cut corners on UX. It’s the key to unlocking your startup's full potential. ✨ Talk to us: https://lnkd.in/e2ke4dmF #UXDesign #Startups #GrowthHacking #ProductLeadership #GTM

You need a designer. Whatever you're building in tech, a designer is necessary. That's the truth. From the very beginning, hire a designer. And senior designer Eloisa Breban Docton says design is not only about creating beautiful products, but studies actually show that aesthetically-pleasing products evoke positive emotions, suggest higher quality, enhance user engagement, contribute to a positive brand image, and influence consumer purchasing decisions. On the #EchobindBlog, Eloisa dives deeper into which designer to hire and who you might need for what you're building. 📝: https://lnkd.in/gYbhxQfD

This demo from Anthropic actually made me tear up with excitement! It's incredible to see how Claude artifacts can accelerate workflows across different disciplines and use cases, giving us a peek into what creation will look like in the coming years. 👉 Developers can make architecture diagrams from codebases 👉 Product managers can create interactive prototypes for rapid feature testing 👉 Designers can build powerful visualizations for quick prototyping 👉 Marketers can design campaign dashboards with performance metrics 👉 Sales teams can visualize sales pipelines with forecasting insights Truly inspiring.

I remember one of these specific PJisms, and design principle of PJ Onori's when we worked together, spending less time on design artifacts. Fast forward to when we started the podcast, I've always wanted to record an episode about our ISMS, and what were some design principles that have followed us along. We'll be dropping some more of these backlog episodes that we recorded over the winter, but have been sitting as b-sides over the next few months! Designers, listen up...It feels like many of you have taken a step back (willingly or unwillingly) in the development of AI. We need more of your voices at the table. Forget all the cool AI announcements that Figma dropped at Config today. Here's the most important article you can read today https://lnkd.in/emRmmc_J Let's get to work! P.S. Figma, keep taking those shots! 🫡
