It’s often said, “The best investment a leader can make is in their people.” We recently launched our JioMart CEO Connect series — an initiative aimed at fostering open communication between leadership and our high-potential employees. This platform allows being heard, gain visibility, ask questions, share ideas and engage directly with our CEO, as we work together to shape the future of JioMart. Over the next few months, more such in person connect sessions would be organised across our offices in the geography. At JioMart, we foster and appreciate open conversations, empowering ambitions to align with insights. #CEOConnect #LeadershipEngagement #HighPotentialTalent #OpenDialogue

The third panel discussion, ‘Engage: Strategies for Bridging the Generational Divide in Retail Workforces’, moderated by Adhir Mane, CHRO- Corporate, Raymond Limited., delves into the complexities of managing a multigenerational workforce. Panelists include: - Anjali Goel, Head HR, V-Mart Retail Ltd. - Dhruva K Dubey, CHRO, Vishal Mega Mart Limited. - Rahul Jain, Head - HRBP, bigbasket.com - Ramandeep Singh, Head HR - Electronics, Reliance Retail Ltd. - Yogesh Somani, AVP & Head HR, MR DIY India Anjali Goel underscores the importance of structured processes in training and communication. “Training practices have evolved, and younger generations expect rapid growth, guided by subject matter experts. Initially, this shift met resistance, rooted in traditional mindsets, but digitizing these processes and adopting continuous feedback have helped ease the transition.” Dhruva Dubey believes the retail landscape has fundamentally changed, driven by evolving customer behaviors. “Generational diversity is now essential, but it requires more than just acknowledgement—it demands alignment of culture, leadership, and organizational goals. Senior leadership is aging, while the younger workforce is more digitally savvy, creating an opportunity for reverse mentorship.” Rahul Jain discusses how different generations value different aspects of work. “For Gen Z, career advancement is paramount, while Baby Boomers prioritize meaningful work. Our hiring processes reflect this, focusing on competence. We recently hired a 29-year-old design executive, and although there was some initial hesitation from management, we adapted the process to focus on skills that meet customer needs.” Ramandeep Singh sees this generational divide as a challenge not just for companies, but for life in general. “Inclusive leadership is a journey, one that requires ongoing evolution and self-awareness. Unconscious bias is present in all of us, and we must actively address it through training and exposure. Leadership plays a pivotal role—when a leader is inclusive, the entire organization benefits. ” Yogesh Somani touches on the nuances of behavior across generations. “People are often categorized by their behavior rather than age. Bridging the gap requires a design-driven approach, but it works best when it happens naturally, with seamless integration. For example, we’re hiring women who have taken long career breaks based on merit, not age." The generational divide in retail workforces presents both challenges and opportunities. By fostering environments where multiple generations can thrive, organizations can remain agile in the ever-evolving retail landscape. #ManningModernRetail2024 #HR #HRConclave #RetailHR #Event #Conclave #Retailer #Brand #OnlineShopping #OnlineRetail #RetailStores #RetailShop #RetailMarketing #Learning #Insights
