Yes, "Luscious" really was his legal first name. -Colin Kimbrell 14:37, 2 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Note on birthplace

[edit]

Easter's birthplace is generally given as Jonestown Mississippi, but that state has more than one community of that name. One source, http://www.baseball-almanac.com/minor-league/minor9.shtml, given in the external links, puts Easter's Jonestown "...about an hour's drive south of Memphis." That can only be the Jonestown in Coahoma County, which also seems to be the greatest of them, although a slight place itself. Whether the source's author, Pat Doyle, truly determined that it is the Jonestown where Easter was born, or merely assumed so and made plain where it stands, is unsure without further information. Mayaguez Indians

[edit]

As a native of Mayagüez, Puerto Rico, I've heard a few stories about Easter's prowess as a batter for the Indios de Mayagüez at Puerto Rico's winter baseball league. He's part of the team's All Time All Star lineup. Would be nice to see a line or two about the matter in the article... I believe he once smashed a home run that was estimated at being at least 600 ft. long...
