Invitation to the London Bridge Task Force

edit

Hello! You seem to have an interest in the recent death of Elizabeth II, so I wanted to invite to the WikiProject of Current Events new task force The London Bridge Task Force, which will be working on improving all the articles around the death of Elizabeth II. A task force is similar to a WikiProject, which is where you can communicate with other editors who all have the same goal, which is improving all the articles around a specific topic. I hope you consider joining! Elijahandskip (talk) 23:46, 8 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Saskatchewan Marshals Service moved to draftspace

edit

An article you recently created, Saskatchewan Marshals Service, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. ... discospinster talk 19:41, 27 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Anti-Nebraska movement

edit

Unfortunately, your edit to the lead section oversimplifies things in a way which might contradict the text of the article below. Many who opposed the Kansas-Nebraska act were not immediately willing to renounce their previous political affiliation. Abraham Lincoln was still a Whig in mid-1855 (and worried about the rise of the Know-Nothings), as revealed in his famous "Russia" letter to Joshua Speed. The main effect of the Kansas-Nebraska act turmoil turned out to be to catalyze the founding of the Republican Party which then attained major-party status, but that was a lot more obvious in the hindsight of the late 1856 election results than it was to people in 1854 and 1855...
