A happy coincidence: you started an article on St. Vincent and I've started one on his sire Ocean Swell a day later! Tigerboy1966 (talk) 16:24, 14 November 2011 (UTC)Reply

Silverbulletday Stakes

edit
  • Hi Harry, I need your help. Fair Grounds Race Course changed their stakes names two years ago. They changed the Silverbulletday Stakes to the Rachel Alexandra Stakes that page is fine except Silverbulletday Stakes is at the top of the page. The big problem is that Fair Grounds then changed the Tiffany Lass Stakes to the Silverbulletday Stakes. But every time you type in Silverbulletday Stakes you are redirected to the Rachel Alexandra Stakes. I want to start a Silverbulletday Stakes page, but it is all messed up. Can you help?--Craiglduncan (talk) 20:07, 26 February 2012 (UTC) Just checking back with you to see if you can help me fix this? I don't know how.--Craiglduncan (talk) 17:29, 1 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Speedy deletion nomination of John M. Gaver, Jr.

edit

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on John M. Gaver, Jr. requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. -- Alan Liefting (talk - contribs) 20:22, 13 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Removing Speedy at John M. Gaver, Jr.

edit

Hi Hialeah Harry, you recently removed a deletion tag from John M. Gaver, Jr.. Because Wikipedia policy does not allow the creator of the page to remove speedy deletion tags, an automated program has replaced the tag. Although the deletion proposal may be incorrect, removing the tag is not the correct way for you to contest the deletion, even if you are more experienced than the nominator. Instead, please use the talk page to explain why the page should not be deleted. Remember to be patient, there is no harm in waiting for another experienced user to review the deletion and judge what the right course of action is. As you are involved, and therefore potentially biased, you should refrain from doing this yourself. Thank you, - SDPatrolBot (talk) 21:11, 13 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with John M. Gaver, Jr.. If you believe the page should not be deleted, you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Click here to contest this speedy deletion, which appears inside the speedy deletion notice. This will allow you to make your case on the article's talk page. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Thank you. - SDPatrolBot (talk) 21:14, 13 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

This is your last warning. The next time you remove a speedy deletion notice from a page you have created yourself, as you did at John M. Gaver, Jr., you may be blocked from editing without further notice. - SDPatrolBot (talk) 21:16, 13 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Speedy Nonsense

I removed the speedy tag. Shouldn't be a problem now. Seems like a perfectly viable article to me. I know we usually disagree about everything, but as Voltaire said...  Tigerboy1966  21:55, 13 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

American Eyes

edit

I would appreciate your views on some articles I have been trying to improve. Whatever our differences on the thorny issue of awards I know that you are just about the most knowledgeable person on US Horse Racing on WP. In particular I am very wary about using Britticisms on articles dealing with American topics. The articles in question are Cavalcade, Discovery, Whisk Broom II and Gallant Fox. I have made a start on Hill Prince as well, but it's far from finished and a bit messy. I noticed that you have been doing some work on the "human" side of the sport. Could I suggest Mack Garner as an article?  Tigerboy1966  21:30, 26 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

Friendly advice

edit

The tone of this [2] might be oddly familiar to old horse racing hands. I'd wind it in a bit if I were you H. You are making excellent contributions to WP, so don't do anything daft. Feel free to blank this, but please don't ignore. Tigerboy1966  17:18, 9 June 2012 (UTC) Reply
