I recently discovered a considerably underground artist (610 monthly listeners on Spotify). I went to check if there was a wiki already but there wasn’t.

I read through the community creation policy and saw the Living People section, but am unsure if that applies here.

Would it be ok for me to create a wiki?

I want to use some pixel sprites from the 1986 version of Dark Castle for my website as an homage to its creator, Mark Stephen Pierce — and also because that game hugely influenced me.

Note that this is a personal / portfolio website (I'm a designer) and that it also serves a commercial / promotional purpose.

Can I trust the Fandom's wiki stating that the copyrights have actually been released to the public domain by the copyright holder?

I want to make a wiki for a certain game and i'm not sure if i should use wiki fandom. I've used it in the past and I like it but I've heard a lot of people saying that it isn't very good.

I just came across the spongebob wiki and Talking4flowers was forced to leave...I mean, he got himself to leave because of all the swearing and the off topics posts...I just don't feel safe in the Spongebob Wiki...um...can you guys maybe do something about this??? That would help...please??? 🥺

This is kind of an out there idea, but I run a wiki for characters archetypes and on some pages on the wiki references/citations are used to mark how many official uses of that particular character type there are. I.e, Tsundere has 50 references so there's 50 official characters labelled by their creator as tsundere, and so on.

I was thinking it could be interesting to make a sortable table that automatically updates with a live count of how many references (official uses) each page has. Something like:

{{RefCount|Tsundere/Characters}} and it would output "50" because there's 50 references on page "Tsundere/Characters". And if a new reference got added it would update to 51, and so on. Does that make sense?

I'm not sure if that's possible or not, but it's something I often do when working on Google sheets.

I've tried to make a design template that uses different colors depending on light/dark mode via TemplateStyles, but it doesn't work. I think it doesn't work because TemplateStyles is scoped to the template.

The CSS I used looked something like this, and works outside of TemplateStyles.

.theme-fandomdesktop-light .themed {
	color: green;
}
.theme-fandomdesktop-dark .themed {
	color: blue;
}

I was wondering if anyone knew a way to make it work without having to use regular CSS pages. Because having to do it that way is really inconvenient (as I am not an admin on the wiki of interest) and defeats the purpose of TemplateStyles.

UPDATE:

I took a closer look at TemplateStyle's documentation and realized that I need to specify the body element. I guess TemplateStyles can look beyond its scope if you specify which element to look at?

In other words, the previous CSS didn't work, and this CSS does:

body.theme-fandomdesktop-light .themed {
	color: green;
}
body.theme-fandomdesktop-dark .themed {
	color: blue;
}

Want to use a image for profile, but It doesnt let me (its 2.6mb and a jpg) when i click save it sets to default

I have been trying to edit in some changes to Navigation Bar while attempting to follow instructions from Help:Navigation | Community Central | Fandom and make some pages accessible to the readers, but no luck!

If anything that I tried, I seemed to make it farther from what I wanted of the my wiki's navigation menu to look like. TT__TT

I want to add a few linked pages to the Navigation Menu as the first level items. But those linked pages are not categories in the first places.

How to add correctly to the navigation menu without turning these pages into an Error Pages or Pages you can't read or something else as another Category Pages with irrelevant topics?!

Please give me some advices.

I accidentally uploaded some files but with the wrong name. So I tried deleting them, but that didn't work when I tried to reupload them with the right names. Is there any way to circumvent this? Or should I slightly modify my files so they are no longer identical?

I'm trying to find a way to bracket something in the sourcecode of a page so that in won't show up, without me having to delete it. It would be useful for sections that aren't finished or I'm not sure I want to include but don't want to delete. I tried <noinclude> but that doesn't work.

Just want to know, because there’s a user in mind on one of the wikis I’m on that I think should be blocked temporarily, but I’m not sure how many times they have been blocked

(also if anyone knows, why was user: Fermentedrose blocked?)
