I graduated from Nottingham University in 1971 with a B.A.(Hons) in Sociology, and carried out research in social science at Nottinghamshire County Council (1971-3), University College London (1974 - 1979)and the BBC (1980-81). I spent the next twenty years raising a family before returning to academic study. I'm now in the final stages of a B.A. in Humanities (English Literature, History and Art History) at the University of Surrey. My current areas of interest are the links between politics, literature and art. I'm particularly interested in the Edwardian period in Britain, and I hope to contribute to articles on authors and artists such as H. G. Wells and Wyndham Lewis whose works were closely connected to the political climate of their time.
