Later he became deacon Jednoty bratrské v Litomyšli. Later he became a deacon em Unity of the Brethren in Litomysl i Roku 1518 se stal kazatelem a 1529 i biskupem Jednoty bratrské v Mladé Boleslavi.
== Teologická činnost == Udržoval čilé styky s německými luterány, osobně se seznámil s Martinem Lutherem; under the influence of the Unity of the Brethren theologically closer together with Lutheranism (in particular the doctrine of justification by faith).
Zasloužil se o vydání německého překladu bratrského vyznání Rechenschaft des Glaubens (1533).

Jan Roh je mimo jiné autorem německé písně Gottes Sohn ist kommen, na jejíž motivy složil v roce 1708 varhanní skladbu Johann Sebastian Bach (BWV 724); tato píseň je známá i anglickojazyčných církvích pod názvem Once He came in blessing. There were a few extra songs.
