“You've been pushed around long enough! With the Nerd Rage perk, your Strength is raised to 10 and you gain 15 points to Damage Threshold whenever your Health drops to 20% or below.”— In-game description
Nerd Rage! is a perk in Fallout: New Vegas.
Effects[]
Taking this perk grants a temporary +15 bonus to Damage Threshold and raises the Strength attribute to the maximum of 10 whenever one's Hit Points drops to 20% or below of the current total.
Notes[]
- The base amount of HP determines the trigger for this perk. Bonus HP from other sources such as Buffout or the Thought You Died perk will not raise the threshold.
- The perk's effect on Damage Threshold stacks with similar bonuses and applies even if one is naked or wearing low-condition, even broken armor; they merely need to meet the health threshold.
- While Fallout: New Vegas does not feature a cap on DT, 20% of pre-DT damage is guaranteed to go through, regardless of how high a player character's DT is. As such, in certain situations, an increase in DT may yield little to no benefit.
- If one is having difficulty determining how much 20% of their health is, this is the same amount of health needed before one begins to hear the heart beating audio effect.
Behind the scenes[]
The perk is based on Adrenaline Rush, a perk which had first appeared in Fallout 2. The art is also borrowed from Adrenaline Rush, save for a few thematic changes.
