Amidst the 2023-2024 Manipur violence, thousands of violent incidents occurred in and around Imphal city, the capital of the state of Manipur. At least 504 violent incidents occurred in Imphal city itself, with 597 incidents occurring in total in the outskirts of the city.[n 2]

As a result of the violence, almost the entirety of the Kuki population has been expelled, and almost all of the Kuki quarter of the city has been destroyed.

List of Known Fatal Incidents

At least 26 people have been killed in Imphal itself as of April 1, 2024. These include 25 civilians (4 Meitei, 20 Kuki-Zo, 1 Unspecified) and 1 off-duty Indian soldier (of the Kom tribe). All but 4 of the dead were killed by Meitei assailants, with 1 killed by Kuki militants, and 3 by unidentified assailants.

At least 7 fatal incidents have occurred within Imphal city itself, with 32 others occurring on the outskirts of the city. Other fatal incidents have been alleged, but have not yet been confirmed. As a result, this list is not comprehensive.
