Foran's notability seems tied up with this one incident. Would seem logical to merge what contact can be accurately sourced into that article rather than having separate articles for the prosecutors. (The other prosecutor's shorter article was deleted via WP:PROD.) Whouk (talk) 14:28, 22 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thomas Foran

[edit]

Thomas Foran's Wiki page needs to be expanded; not merged. A critic's ignorance of Mr. Foran's background is a pathetic argument for the removal of a Wiki article devoted to his life and work. I may not like what he did or his methods but I still want to know everything I can about this person. 75.145.77.185 (talk) 23:47, 22 November 2015 (UTC)JSJR - 11222015[reply]

It's apparently not widely known that between 1965 and 1967, Tom Foran, without any publicity and out of pocket, funded a Montessori preschool in Cabrini Green, one of the most impoverished black housing projects in the city. He rented the facility, purchased the Montessori equipment, and eas able to recruit a Montessori teacher, Marcella Morrison, whose work with black children was simply amazing. I became indirectly involved as a psychologist at the University of Illinois at Chicago Circle who did some research at the school smf tried unsuccessfully to obtain federal funding for the school. Foran's totally selfless support of this facility provides a quite different, and perhaps more accurate, picture than his prosecution of the Chicao Seven of the sort of human being that Mr. Foran was actually like.
