[edit]

The Barak-8 missile is almost 3 times heavier and more than twice the length of Barak-1. Yet articles, including this wiki page cite weight of the system from the original Barak-1 system. Is this realistic? Does the Barak-8 use the same VL system as the Barak-1? Adeptitus (talk) 17:26, 2 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The diameter of 0.54m and wingspan of 0.94m cannot be right, relative to the length of 4.5m, just by looking at the image. 50.47.108.119 (talk) 01:03, 28 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Cyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request its removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.

Below is a list of links that were found on the main page:

Barak 8 Range

[edit]

Different reliable sources quote different ranges for Barak 8, some say 70km as per original specifications, while some say 90km and out to a maximum of 100km. Considering they are all reliable sources, it is best to quote all these ranges within the article. Also I have found this source which describes Barak 8 has having comparable capabilities to SM2, Aster, SM6 and Patriot. I will add those in the see also section. After more searching, the most reliable authoritative source I could find is this one from IHS Janes. They confirm the range of Barak 8 has been increased to 90km "following land-based trials in Israel in November 2014". Antiochus the Great (talk) 14:19, 30 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Missile manufacturer and seeker

[edit]

It seems IAI make the missile not Rafael and the seeker appear to be active RF only. http://www.iai.co.il/2013/37178-45489-en/SystemMissileandSpace_MBTMissiles_AirandMissiles_Barak8.aspx http://www.iai.co.il/Sip_Storage//FILES/8/42368.pdf

IAI is mentioned as the developer of the missile. Rafale is one among many companies which manufactures parts of the missile. Also, the active RF is mentioned. Please be specific on what section would you like to change or have an opposition to. Thanks. Adamgerber80 (talk) 12:41, 21 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Could someone give a run-down of why (or not) the various sources being edit-warred over are reliable? Thanks. Black Kite (talk) 20:44, 21 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
