- Les espiròidies (Spiraeoideae) són una subfamília de plantes amb flors dins la família de les rosàcies. La majoria són espècies arbustives, però algunes són herbàcies i hi ha arbres en la subtribu i en la tribu Amygdaleae). La majoria de les espècies presenten fulles simples, però els gèneres Aruncus, Sorbaria (i Sorbus en la subtribu ) tenen fulles compostes pinnades. Hi ha pocs carpels (1, o normalment 2-5). La majoria de gèneres dins Spiraeoideae produeixen flors amb carpels diferenciats. Actualment s'ha demostrat que els Maloideae amb fruit en pom i la subfamília Prunoideae/Amygdaloideae amb fruits en drupa podrien ser inclosos en les espiròidies, com la subtribu i la tribu Amygdaleae respectivament. - The subfamily Spiraeoideae was traditionally a subfamily of flowering plants within the family Rosaceae. The taxonomy of this subfamily has changed several times in the last century as more detailed studies have been carried out. Spiraeoideae as defined before 2007 is paraphyletic, leading some authors to define a broader subfamily which includes the Spiraeoideae as well as the Maleae (plants such as pears and apples whose fruits are pomes), and the Amygdaloideae (including almonds and plums, whose fruits are drupes). Such an expanded subfamily is to be called Amygdaloideae under the International Code of Nomenclature for algae, fungi, and plants. The traditional Spiraeoideae are shrubs. Most have simple leaves, but the genera Aruncus and Sorbaria have pinnately compound leaves. Carpels are usually 2-5. Most genera traditionally placed in the Spiraeoideae produce flowers with distinct follicles that, upon seed-set, mature to form fruits that are aggregates of follicles. - Il termine Spiraeoideae si riferisce ad una sottofamiglia della famiglia Rosaceae secondo una classificazione tradizionale. La sistematica di questa sottofamiglia è cambiata varie volte nel secolo scorso mano a mano che venivano effettuati studi più dettagliati. Le Spiraeoideae tradizionalemente definite (prima degli studi del 2007) sono un gruppo parafiletico ovvero non comprendono tutti i discendenti di un antenato comune. Appartengono a questa sottofamiglia, definita secondo il senso tradizionale, specie in prevalenza arbustive, tra cui le specie del genere Spiraea, alcune delle quali sono utilizzate come piante ornamentali. Hanno gineceo formato da 1-5 carpelli; ciascun carpello forma un frutto del tipo follicolo (frutto secco deiscente, contenente diversi semi, che a maturità si apre lungo la sutura del carpello). (it)
