- Revocation ist eine Extreme-Metal-Band aus Boston, Massachusetts (USA). Die Band wurde im Jahre 2000 von dem Gitarristen und Sänger David Davidson, dem Bassisten und Sänger Anthony Buda sowie dem Schlagzeuger Phil Dubois-Coyne gegründet. - Revocation est un groupe de thrash et death metal technique américain, originaire de Boston, dans l’État du Massachusetts. Le groupe est formé en 2000 sous le nom de Cryptic Warning, nom sous lequel ils ne sortiront qu'un seul album, Sanity's Aberration, en 2005. L'année suivante, la formation se renomme Revocation. Le groupe joue un thrash metal très technique auquel s'ajoute de multiples influences issues de tous les genres de metal (death metal, deathcore, hard rock, black metal), ce qui leur a valu une renommée internationale. Le groupe est composé actuellement de David Davidson (guitare et vocaux), Dan Gargiulo (guitare et chœurs) Brett Bamberger (basse et chœurs), ainsi que de Ash Pearson (batterie) qui a rejoint le groupe en 2015. Les précédents membres du groupe incluent Anthony Buda à la basse et aux chœurs et Phil Dubois-Coyne à la batterie. - I Revocation sono una death metal band statunitense di Boston, Massachusetts. La band è stata fondata dal chitarrista e cantante David Davidson, dal bassista Anthony Buda e dal batterista Phil Dubois-Coyne nel 2000. In origine venne scelto il nome Cryptic Warning, ma fu cambiato in Revocation nel 2006. Dal 2015 l'unico membro originale è rimasto Davidson, principale compositore dei pezzi del gruppo, mentre al basso figura Brett Bamberger e alla batteria Ash Pearson. Dal 2010 al 2020 ha fatto parte del gruppo anche il chitarrista ritmico Dan Gargiulo. Prima della firma con la Metal Blade Records, il gruppo ha pubblicato quattro album in studio: Empire of the Obscene (2008), Existence Is Futile (2009) e Chaos of Forms (2011) e Revocation (2013), dei quali gli ultimi tre sotto la Relapse Records. Successivamente vengono pubblicati Deathless (2014), Great Is Our Sin (2016), The Outer Ones (2018) e Netherheaven (2022), che seguono il successo commerciale dell'eponimo Revocation, il primo del gruppo a classificarsi nella Billboard 200.
