- Mezinárodní archivní rada (anglicky International Council on Archives, ICA; francouzsky Conseil international des archives) je mezinárodní nevládní organizace snažící se o podporu mezinárodní kooperace archivů a archivářů. Rada byla založena roku 1948 v Paříži (dohromady bylo 14 zakládajících členů), v roce 1978 měla již 110 členů a v roce 2015 již 1400 členů ze 199 zemí a regionů. V rámci rady se členové dělí na 5 typů členství (a–e) a poté na 13 regionálních větví. Na mezinárodní úrovni má úzke vazby na UNESCO a je součástí mezinárodního komitétu Modrý štít. Rada pořádá každé čtyři roky mezinárodní kongres (poprvé v roce 1950), do roku 2011 potom výroční konference u kulatého stolu (CITRA, Conférence internationale de la Table ronde des Archives). Mezi známé projekty rady patří Všeobecný mezinárodní standard pro archivní popis, (General International Standard Archival Descriptio, tedy ), případně standard pro archivní autoritní záznamy (ISAAR). Conseil International des Archives CIA) ist eine 1948 gegründete nichtstaatliche Organisation mit Sitz in Paris, die sich dem Archivwesen widmet. Im ICA sind nationale Archivverwaltungen, Fachverbände von Archivarinnen und Archivare, Kommunal- und Stadtarchive, Archive anderer Organisationen sowie einzelne Archivarinnen und Archivare vereinigt. Er hat rund 1500 Mitglieder aus 195 Ländern und Territorien. Der Rat ist dezentral organisiert mit Regionalzweigen, Sektionen und Arbeitsgruppen. Der ICA ist ein Gründungsmitglied der Kulturschutzorganisation Blue Shield International. In diesem Zusammenhang soll der nationale und internationale Schutz von Archiven als Teil des gewachsenen kulturellen Erbes sichergestellt werden. (de)

- O Conselho Internacional de Arquivos (CIA; em inglês ICA – International Council on Archives) é uma organização internacional independente constituída por membros de vários tipos de organizações arquivísticas, por profissionais e estudantes da área, instalada em França. Este conselho trabalha no sentido de fazer chegar aos órgãos competentes informação sobre boas práticas a nível da gestão arquivística, disponibilizando informação, investigação e educação ao alcance de qualquer país, a nível mundial para melhores práticas nos arquivos. Para esse efeito, são organizados vários congressos, de onde por vezes resultam reformas, normas, decisões ou publicações tendo em conta a preocupação com os arquivos a nível mundial, tentando encontrar soluções para os problemas existentes e para os que possam surgir. As recomendações que sugerem são baseadas em normas, manuais, orientações técnicas e outras publicações no âmbito da arquivística, que são importantes para orientar a gestão dos documentos ao longo da sua vida. A partir dos anos 90 do século 20, quando a produção de documentos electrónicos começa a dominar, o CIA começa a emitir normas visando a regulamentação dessa produção. No que diz respeito à preservação de documentos, o Conselho fomenta a preservação digital, tentando fazer chegar essa prática às organizações a nível internacional, como uma forma de preservar o original, fazendo com que continue acessível.
