- Η έφιππη θέση ή θέση μάουντ (αγγλικά: mount) είναι μία θέση κυριαρχίας στη μάχη εδάφους στην οποία ό ένας μαχητής που βρίσκεται από πάνω κάθεται "καβάλα" στον κορμό του αντίπαλού του με ανοιχτά τα πόδια και έχοντας πρόσωπο προς το κεφάλι του. Είναι εξαιρετικά πλεονεκτική και ευνοϊκή θέση για τον επάνω μαχητή για πολλούς λόγους. Μπορεί να χτυπήσει τον αντίπαλο του με σημαντική ένταση και ορμή εκμεταλλευόμενος την ώθηση από την βαρύτητα και όλο το εύρος της κίνησης την ίδια στιγμή που ο μαχητής από κάτω περιορίζεται από το έδαφος και τον αντίπαλό του. Άλλο ένα πλεονέκτημα είναι ότι μπορεί να εφαρμόσει πλήθος λαβών εξάρθρωσης ή πνιγμού, κάτι που για τον από κάτω δεν είναι εφικτό, του οποίου η κορυφαία προτεραιότητα είναι να ανατρέψει τον από πάνω και να μεταβεί σε κάποια καλύτερη θέση, όπως αυτή της επιφυλακής με αυτόν από πάνω. - Bei der Mount handelt es sich um eine Grundposition im Kampfsport. Dabei „sitzt“ der dominante Kämpfer auf dem Brustkorb des Gegners. Anwendung findet diese Technik vor allem bei Grappling-Kampfsportarten wie dem Luta Livre, dem Sambo, dem Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, oder bei den Mixed Martial Arts. Der obere Kämpfer kann so etwa Hebel ansetzen (etwa den Triangle Choke, den Armbar oder eine Kimura). Beim MMA erlauben die Regeln zusätzlich Schläge mit den Fäusten oder Ellenbogen gegen den Kopf, während der unten liegende Kämpfer verteidigen muss.
