- Alastair McCorquodale (5 December 1925 – 27 February 2009) was a British athlete and cricketer. McCorquodale was educated at Harrow where he opened the bowling for the 1st XI in the 1948 Eton v Harrow match at Lord's. He represented Britain in Athletics at the 1948 Olympic Games in London. He was denied a bronze medal in the 100m final by a photo finish, but won a silver medal in the 4 × 100 m relay. He never ran again. He also represented the Free Foresters, Marylebone Cricket Club in 1948 and Middlesex in three matches in 1951, as a left-handed batsman and a right-arm fast bowler. He toured Canada with MCC in 1951–52. He was the seventh oldest living Middlesex first-class cricketer prior to his death. (en)

Bei den Olympischen Spielen in London wurde er im 100-Meter-Lauf hinter den US-Amerikanern Harrison Dillard und Barney Ewell und dem Panamaer Lloyd LaBeach Vierter (mit der inoffiziellen Zeit von 10,7 Sekunden). Über 200 Meter verpasste McCorquodale das Finale knapp. Im Staffelfinale siegten die US-Amerikaner in 40,6 Sekunden, dahinter erhielten die Briten in 41,3 Sekunden die Silbermedaille. Nach den Olympischen Spielen beendete McCorquodale seine Leichtathletik-Karriere. Von 1948 bis 1951 wirkte McCorquodale in fünf First-Class Cricketspielen für den Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC), die Free Foresters und den Middlesex County Cricket Club als linkshändiger Schlagmann und rechtshändiger Fast Bowler mit. In der Saison 1951–52 nahm er an der MCC-Tour nach Kanada teil. McCorquodale übernahm später den Verlag seiner Familie und war verlegerisch verantwortlich für das Jahrbuch Whitaker's Almanack.
