In memoriam: Victor Petrovich Havin (1933–2015), a life devoted to mathematics. (English) Zbl 1405.01031

Baranov, Anton (ed.) et al., 50 years with Hardy spaces. A tribute to Victor Havin. Cham: Birkhäuser (ISBN 978-3-319-59077-6/hbk; 978-3-319-59078-3/ebook). Operator Theory: Advances and Applications 261, 3-66 (2018).
Summary: Victor Havin (in Russian – Виктор Петрович Хавин) was one of a few charismatic leaders of the Saint Petersburg analysis community during the past 50 years. Being an outstanding mathematician, he has founded and modelled the face of the modern Saint Petersburg analysis school, building a true hotbed of talents, which still continues to bring forth new generations of bright scholars. Here, we try to trace his way, describe his profound impact on our community, and simply sketch a few features of his unforgettable personality.
