A sufficient condition for a system of ordinary differential equations to be technically contractively stable. (Spanish. English summary) Zbl 0912.34042

The contractive technical stability (i.e. the stability on finite time intervals) of ordinary differential equations is studied, based on a Lyapunov function technique. The author relaxes a known sufficient condition for contractive stability due to L. Weiss and E. F. Infante [Differential Equations dynam. Systems, Proc. Int. Sympos. Puerto Rico 1965, 341-350 (1967; Zbl 0168.33903)]. Eventually, the analysis is applied to some linear systems following an idea of L. Weiss and J.-S. Lee [Ordinary differ. Equat., Proc. NRL-MRC Conf., Washington D.C. 1971, 569-580 (1972; Zbl 0313.34055)].
