B-Class Material?

[edit]
I think this article could be a great candidate for B-Class consideration. I have yet to evaluate any articles, but if anyone out there is familiar with doing so, I think this article has a fair chance. Also, with regard to the citation requests (there are three in one paragraph), all of that can be cited to the Glider Flying Manual published by the FAA. I don't have a copy off hand, but I should be able to find the citation online somewhere. Especially after that is done, this could definitely be B-Class. "But that's cheating"

Are these things at all controversial within the glider fraternity? Drutt (talk) 15:49, 24 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Power Assisted Soaring

[edit]

I'm boldly deleting the whole Power Assisted Soaring section because:

  1. It's rife with personal opinion. (e.g. inimitability, neglected, misguided...)
  2. It's rambling and repetitive.
  3. I can see no relevant and notable info in it, other than one sentence which I am putting under Licensing before deleting this section. The rest of the article already made it clear that efficiency is the benchmark in soaring, and that having a motor can permit longer flight.
  4. The material of this section seems to be contributed by CJRoelofse himself and several anonymous IP addresses. One wonders how much Wikipedia:Neutral_point_of_view policy was regarded in preparing it.

These same four problems apply to the Power_assisted_soaring parent article as well, so I did not keep the link to it here. (That article could be considered for deletion too due to lack of notable NPOV content.)

For reference, the section can be seen as of before my transfer and deletion here. If reverting these changes, they are all in the edits of 21:06 and 21:34. Please do not confuse my innocuous edits from last night with them. - Egmonster (talk) 22:17, 29 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
