'Abu 'Abdu'llah Husain II Pasha, Beylerbeyi of Tunis, by his second wife, Lalla Fatima al-Munastiri, educ. privately. Invested as Heir Apparent with the title of Beyal-Mahalla and the style of His Highness, 10th June 1855. Proclaimed on the death of his elder brother, 20th September 1859. Installed at the Palace of Bardo, 24th September 1859. Settled the order succession by establishing hereditary succession within the Beylical house to the eldest male Prince alive at the death of the incumbent, 26th April 1861. Confirmed in the hereditary title of Bey and Possessor of the Kingdom of Tunis by Imperial Ottoman Firman 24th October 1871. Sovereign and Grand Master of the Nishan al-Ahadal-Aman, Nishan ad-Dam, and Nishan al-Iftikhar. Founded the Nishan al-Ahad al-Murassa on 11th November 1874. Signed the Treaty of Bardo at Kassar Said, 12th May 1881, which established a measure of French control over the regency. Appointed as Lieut-Gen Imperial Ottoman Army 10/6/1855, prom Field Marshal 10/12/1859. (first) at the Baît al-Basha, the Palace of Bardo, 15th October 1826 (nikah) and before 9th January 1834 (zifaf), his maternal first cousin, only daughter of Abu'l 'Abbas Ahmad al-Munastiri, by his wife, Princess Zubaida, elder daughter of H.H. 'Abu'l 'Abdu'llah Mahmud Pasha, Bey of Tunis. m. (second) Lalla Henani (d. 1852), daughter of Si 'Ali bin Muhammad Laroussi, sometime Kaid and Presdt. Majlis al-Tijari. m. (third) a former slave girl. m. (fourth) Lalla Qamar [Kmar] Beya (m. second, 1883, H.H. 'Abu'l Hasan 'Ali III Pasha, Bey and Possessor of the Kingdom of Tunis. m. third, 1906, H.H. Muhammad al-Nasir Pasha, Bey and Possessor of the Kingdom of Tunis, GCMG, and d. at Kasr as-Sa'ada, La Marsa, 30th December 1942, bur. Sidi Belhassen Mausoleum, Jellaz), a Circassian. He d.s.p. at the Palace of Bardo, 29th October 1882 (bur. Turbat al-Bey, the Madina, Tunis).
