These little baskets are made entirely from the harvested lavender stalks that come out of my garden. Using the entire lavender stalk, stem and flowers both, small bundles are gathered and coiled into the basket shape. The center base features a walnut slice. Waxed linen thread was used as the binding material. These little baskets have not been treated with any finish so that the natural lavender scent has a chance to shine through. Lavender is credited for the relief of headaches, aid in depression, relaxation and peaceful sleep. For those with magical leanings, lavender properties include love, protection, purification, happiness and peace. It is said that lavender planted near your home will bring good fortune and I can't help but think that a little basket by your foyer wouldn't do the same thing. OR, gift good fortune to a friend! Although each basket differs slightly, this is a larger version of my tiny ones. They average about 5 inches in diameter, and sit 2 inches tall. I have photographed a basket with a standard kitchen egg so you might more easily gauge the small size. This listing is for one basket only. To get more than one, just increase the quantity when you purchase....provided I have more than one available. Sometimes I embellish these. When this option is available, it will be listed in the drop down menu and photos will indicate what the embellishment looks like. All of my baskets are made by the coiling method of basketry. This technique lends itself to use with many materials, shapes and sizes. My favorites include lavender, pine needles and fabrics. Sorry, but because I use natural plant materials in these baskets, I am unable to ship them out of USA. Also, because my lavender supply is limited, I am unable to do any special orders for these. They are only offered occasionally and in limited amounts.
