Did you know that 20 years ago, many Sherpas summiting the world’s highest peaks had no formal training? Fast forward to today – The Khumbu Climbing Center has changed that through education in responsible climbing practices high in the Himalaya. We’re celebrating the 20th anniversary of this community-based program (supported through the Alex Lowe Charitable Foundation) with a limited product capsule and short documentary. We’re proud of our long-standing support of their mission and the Nepali high-altitude workers creating a safe climbing community. The short documentary was created in collaboration with the Khumbu Climbing Center and an all Nepali creative on location in Phortse, Nepal. https://lnkd.in/e5QZiCX8

The North Face Athlete Katie Schide makes running history. 🏆 Katie sets a new fastest time in Chamonix finishing in 22:09:31, beating the previous women’s record by 21 minutes. Katie also becomes the third woman in history to win in Chamonix and Western States in the same year. Legendary! #NeverStopExploring

We are excited to announce that the Summit VECTIV Pro won the “highly recommended” prize as part of the Runner’s World UK Trail Shoe Awards 2024. Testers loved the new upper mesh and the upgrades compared to the first edition of the VECTIV Pro, saying “it runs like a dream on winding and moderately technical terrain.”

The 20,623-foot Great Trango Tower is a prominent mountain in the Karakoram, but nobody had ever skied it before. In May, alpinists Christina Lustenberger, Jim Morrison, and Chantel Astorga achieved the first ever ski descent, supported by a small team and The North Face. This Spring 2025 The North Face Presents will premiere a film celebrating the two year effort of the climb and ski descent of the Great Trango Glacier. In early June, we hosted a community gathering in Denver to bring together some of our non-profit partners, Athletes, and associates for a moment of camaraderie, gratitude, and celebration around our brand community.
