As regulators and industry grapple with how to address threats and vulnerabilities unique to the crypto ecosystem (e.g., phishing, malicious smart contracts), I suspect these embedded controls will emerge as an industry standard. The Ledger Connect Attack is the latest security incident in the DeFi ecosystem. The supply chain attack allowed attackers to take over the front end of dozens of dApps, requesting users to sign malicious transactions unknowingly. Fireblocks Security Team has been actively protecting customers from interacting with compromised dApps and has not seen any indication of customers signing malicious transactions.
